Tandem PHP Upgrade Gatekeeper\u2019s primary job is different:<\/p>\n\n<ol>\n<li>Set a <strong>target PHP<\/strong> version (the version you plan to move to)<\/li>\n<li>Choose an <strong>upgrade gate policy<\/strong> \u2014 Warn (default), Soft-block (opt-in), or Off<\/li>\n<li>See a <strong>readiness inventory<\/strong> of installed plugins and themes<\/li>\n<li>Get a contextual warning when an update looks at-risk for that target<\/li>\n<li>If Soft-block is enabled, pause that update until you click <strong>Allow next update<\/strong> (nonce-protected, 30 minutes)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p>It does <strong>not<\/strong> replace staging tests, host PHP tools, or developer-grade PHPCS \/ PHPCompatibility suites. Encoded \/ non-analyzable packages are marked <strong>Unknown<\/strong>. It does not phone home. It only reads local plugin\/theme PHP files on the site to produce readiness heuristics and update notices.
