Services<\/h3>\n\n<p>This plugin connects to the Smarty address-intelligence API to provide address autocomplete and verification. This connection is required for the plugin to function.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Address autocomplete and verification (customer checkout and admin order pages)<\/strong>\nAs a customer types an address, and when an order is submitted, the address fields (street, secondary\/unit, city, state, postal code, and country) are sent to Smarty's lookup and verification endpoints so they can be suggested and validated:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>us-autocomplete-pro.api.smarty.com<\/li>\n<li>international-autocomplete.api.smarty.com<\/li>\n<li>us-street.api.smarty.com<\/li>\n<li>international-street.api.smarty.com<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>Account connection (store administrators only)<\/strong>\nWhen a store administrator connects a Smarty account, the plugin uses OAuth and then retrieves the account's embedded API keys and subscription status from:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>oauth.api.smarty.com<\/li>\n<li>security.api.smarty.com<\/li>\n<li>subscription.api.smarty.com<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Data is sent only to Smarty. The classic shortcode-based checkout (<code>[woocommerce_checkout]<\/code>) is not supported.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"how%20do%20i%20connect%20the%20plugin%20to%20my%20smarty%20account%3F\"><h3>How do I connect the plugin to my Smarty account?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>On the settings page, click <strong>Connect with Smarty<\/strong> and sign in to authorize the connection. The plugin then loads the embedded keys from your account into a dropdown \u2014 just pick one and click <strong>Save changes<\/strong>. No copying or pasting of keys is required.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"i%20don%27t%20have%20any%20embedded%20keys%20to%20select.\"><h3>I don't have any embedded keys to select.<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>That means the connected Smarty account has no embedded keys yet. Log in at <a href=\"https:\/\/smarty.com\">smarty.com<\/a>, create an embedded key under <strong>API Keys<\/strong>, then click <strong>Change Key<\/strong> on the settings page to reload the list. Embedded keys are designed for client-side use and can be scoped to your domain, so make sure the key is authorized for your store's domain.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20are%20the%20active%20subscriptions%20toggles%3F\"><h3>What are the Active Subscriptions toggles?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>After you connect, the plugin detects which Smarty services your account is subscribed to (US and international address verification and autocomplete). Subscribed services are enabled by default; toggle any off if you don't want to use them. Services you're not subscribed to are shown but can't be enabled.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20happens%20if%20my%20connection%20expires%3F\"><h3>What happens if my connection expires?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>If your saved authorization expires or is revoked, the plugin shows a notice with a <strong>Reconnect now<\/strong> link. Click it, then click <strong>Connect with Smarty<\/strong> again to restore the connection.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20autocomplete%20work%20for%20international%20addresses%3F\"><h3>Does autocomplete work for international addresses?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes. When a customer selects a non-US country, the plugin automatically switches to the Smarty international autocomplete API. Supported countries are listed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/smarty.com\">Smarty documentation<\/a>.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20address%20verification%20work%20internationally%3F\"><h3>Does address verification work internationally?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes. Verification is supported for countries covered by the Smarty international street address API. For unsupported countries, verification is skipped and checkout proceeds normally.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"will%20this%20slow%20down%20my%20checkout%3F\"><h3>Will this slow down my checkout?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Autocomplete suggestions are fetched asynchronously with a 200ms debounce, so they don't block typing. Verification happens only when the customer clicks Place Order and adds less than one second in most cases.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20happens%20if%20the%20smarty%20api%20is%20unreachable%3F\"><h3>What happens if the Smarty API is unreachable?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Autocomplete silently skips suggestions.
