OmegaPix Image Optimizer<\/strong> makes your WordPress images lighter \u2014 automatically, and entirely on your own server. When an image is uploaded it's resized if oversized and converted to next\u2011gen WebP<\/strong> (or AVIF<\/strong> where your server supports it). No image is ever sent to an external service.       Are my images uploaded to OmegaPix or any cloud service?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

      No. All processing happens on your own server using PHP's GD or Imagick. Nothing is ever sent to OmegaPix or any third party.<\/p><\/dd>\n

      What's the difference between this and the OmegaPix website?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

      The website (omegapix.app) processes images right in your browser. This plugin processes them on your WordPress server. Both share the same rule: your files never reach our servers.<\/p><\/dd>\n

      Does it support AVIF?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

      Where your server can (GD\/Imagick built with AVIF support), yes \u2014 and it's preferred over WebP. If AVIF isn't available it uses WebP; if neither is available it tells you clearly.<\/p><\/dd>\n

      Will it delete or damage my original images?<\/h3><\/dt>\n

      No. By default originals are kept and next\u2011gen copies are generated alongside them. \"Replace Original\" is an optional, off\u2011by\u2011default Beta feature.<\/p><\/dd>\n

      Will it slow down my uploads?<\/h3><\/dt>\n
