Dequeue Font Awesome<\/strong> is a very lightweight plugin that will remove all Font Awesome<\/em> stylesheets added to your theme by certain plugins, to not be loaded by several times, if your theme already make use of Font Awesome.<\/p>\n\n

For instance, if you use a theme that use Font Awesome and you also have 2 active plugins (e.g. social icons, menu icons) that both load Font Awesome too, you will end up with 3 font-awesome.css stylesheets loaded. But you only need one. This plugin helps you to always load only one Font Awesome.<\/p>\n\n

Main Feature<\/h4>\n\n

Dequeue Font Awesome<\/strong> plugin aims to reduce the number of HTTP<\/strong> requests (for performance reasons) generated by certain plugins that loads extra Font Awesome<\/em> stylesheet to your theme, even if your theme already uses Font Awesome<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n

You wouldn't want to see Font Awesome<\/em> loaded several times in your header, bloating your theme unnecessarily.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

Important Note<\/h4>\n\n

Dequeue Font Awesome<\/strong> plugin can be also used safely as a smart way to enqueue Font Awesome<\/em> stylesheet from CDN, even if your theme doesn't use it yet.<\/p>\n\n

So there is no need to find out if your theme already uses Font Awesome<\/em>, the plugin will load it only once anyway, thus preventing any additional HTTP requests generated by other plugins that uses Font Awesome<\/em> too.<\/p>\n\n\n

  1. Download the plugin (.zip file) on your hard drive.<\/li>\n
  2. Unzip the zip file contents.<\/li>\n
  3. Upload the dequeue-font-awesome<\/code> folder to the \/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/code> directory.<\/li>\n
  4. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    NOTE: there are no plugin settings page so don\u2019t be alarmed :)<\/p>\n\n\n
