In my quest to find a dead simple solution, I came across two other meta tag generators. This plugin takes the best of both plugins mentioned below and makes a dead simple plugin where web developers and designers can leave their company name \/ authorship info in the WEB_AUTHOR meta tag.<\/p>\n\n

Head Meta Data - Head Meta Data adds a complete set of tags to the section of all posts & pages. - http:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/head-meta-data\/<\/p>\n\n

Simple Meta Tags - Allows you to set global meta tags and customize on each individual page\/post. - http:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/simple-meta-tags\/<\/p>\n\n\n

  1. Upload wp-colophon.php<\/code> to the \/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/code> directory<\/li>\n
  2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress <\/li>\n
  3. Visit the \"WP-Colophon\" settings page for more information.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

    What is the SEO Tramp Stamp?\nA link back to your website in your client\u2019s footer. It's a lazy person's way to get back-links.<\/p>\n\n

    What is a Colophon?\nA statement at the end of a book, typically with a printer's emblem, giving information about its authorship and printing.<\/p>\n\n

    What is a Digital Colophon?\nSimilar as above, but for websites. Leave your company name \/ authorship info in the WEB_AUTHOR tag.<\/p>\n\n

    Will using the WEB_AUTHOR help or hurt my SEO? \nNo. This tag is ignored by the search bots.<\/p>\n\n\n
