WP Fanfiction and Writing Archive turns WordPress sites into online writing communities for fanfiction, longread, education, magazine, and more. Writers can create single stories or books with chapters to share with readers. Powerful search, and terrific tools for both writers and readers. Turn a blog into an online writing community.

WP Fanfiction and Writing Archive (WP FFWA) allows you to have a multi-author fanfiction repository of stories. Crowd source fanfiction for just one fandom or hundreds of fandoms.

If you are building a social networking site for any movie, TV show, book, cartoon, comic, anime, manga, play, musical, WP Fanfiction and Writing Archive is the perfect addition for your site. Invite your site members to become active participants on your site by submitting fanfiction. WP Fanfiction and Writing Archive encourages both user-generated content and interaction between your site members. When using the premium “Favorites” plugin, site members can follow their favorite authors and receive updates when new stories are posted.

A must have for any fan site, WP Fanfiction and Writing Archive will help you engage your site members by inviting a multi author community of fanfiction writers. Unlike a blog, where stories are stored in chronological order, your fanfic writing archive will make search easy for your site members. Each writer will have their own library of stories.

WP Fanfiction and Writing Archive PREMIUM allows site admins to re-label fields so that the plugin can be used for any type of writing, not solely fanfiction. The plugin is ideal for education sites including those using WP Courseware, LearnDash, LifterLMS, WPLMS, and Sensei. Working with course management and learning management plugins, you can create online courses for any discipline in which students submit writing of any kind.

WP Fanfiction and Writing Archive PREMIUM is also ideal for any news, magazine, or journalism sites.

Additionally, WP Fanfiction and Writing Archive PREMIUM is a perfect solution for #longread sites.

Premium Plugins:
– Author Profile
– Cover Image
– Favorites
– WP Fanfiction and Writing Archive Premium

We have intentionally kept the plugins separated. Small and smaller fanfiction sites do not need the WP FFWA Premium, but you may want to add one or more of the other plugins, which are priced very reasonably.

WP Fanfiction and Writing Archive plugins are updated frequently and improved upon frequently.

Follow typical plugin installation: install and activate.

The options are already pre-filled for you so. However, you will need to create some pages using shortcodes.

Optional settings will be under 1) Fanfiction OPTIONS and 2) Fanfiction

Dashboard > Fanfiction OPTIONS
You do not have to change anything here, but here is the explanation of what is what:

Dashboard > Fanfiction Options Create Fan Fiction Page: Name the page you would like your archive of stories to display on. Suggestion: Fanfiction (best for SEO).

Override Dashboard: This is not required. You can choose your preference. Enhanced Admin Interface: Leave Unchecked. Default Role: Leave UNchecked.

Fan Fiction Page Stylesheet: Do not alter. Fiction Position: LEFT if your widgets column is on the right. RIGHT if your widget column is on the left. Posting Page: This is the slug of the page where writers will post their writings. Example: post-fanfiction Example 2: submit-story Click SAVE CHANGES.

Dashboard > Fanfiction (not options)

Dashboard > Fanfiction > Fanfiction No settings. This displays stories submitted and their stats.

Dashboard > Fanfiction > Add Fanfiction
No settings. This displays the front end posting page. This page name and slug are set up through Dashboard > Fanfiction OPTIONS > Posting Page.

Add or edit Book titles and slugs. Your writers will be adding Books from the front end. You can see the listing of books here.

Dashboard > Fanfiction > Genres
Add or edit genres and slugs.

Dashboard > Fanfiction > Fandoms
You MUST create your fandoms before stories can be posted.
NOTE: A tag cloud is generated for this. There is a Widget available for this, as well.

Dashboard > Fanfiction > Characters Add or edit characters and slugs.

CREATE PAGES – YOU MUST DO THIS

As of 1.2.8, this is now done for you:
Archive/Library Page Pages > Add New: Create a new page and title it the same title you chose for Dashboard > Fanfiction OPTIONS > Fanfiction Options. Insert shortcode [wp-fanfiction-writing-archive].

Post Pages > Add New: Create a new page and title it the same title you chose for Fanfiction Options > Posting Page. Insert shortcode [post_story].

You’ll want to add these pages to your main navigation using Appearance > Menus.

Width of your archive Edit width of your library/archive display: If your library or archive is displaying too wide, go to Fanfic Options > Fanfic Options and edit CSS: edit CSS on the Fan Fiction Page Stylesheet option of Fanfic Option page. If your theme is responsive, code should be like that, @media only screen and (min-width: 1024px){ .single_fiction{ width:68%;} } @media only screen and (max-width: 1023px){ .single_fiction{ width:100%;} } If your theme is not responsive, code should be like that, .single_fiction{ width:68%;}

Reviews

Each chapter is displayed separately in the archive…

I checked out this plugin, and I was strongly disappointed. Instead of just having one entry for each story in the archive with the number of chapters and when it was last updated and being sorted by such, each chapter shows up in the archive, so if you want to read a story from chapter 1, you have to find it, instead of being taken by default to it. Not worth your time if you are used to eFiction or FanFiction.Net. Fix this and I’ll use the plugin and give a 5 star rating to boot!
