This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

WordPress Uploaded Files Cleaner


The plugin will help users to detect files that have been loaded in the Media Library and that are not used anymore.
Also, automatic resized pictures will be listed.
Once files are selected, they will be moved to a new folder so in case of problem, they can be restored.
The folder can be excluded from backups to save a huge amount of space !

How to install the plugin and get it working.

  1. Upload plugin archive to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. Go in the extensions menu and follow instructions for the 3 steps


Will the files be deleted

No. They will be only moved in a subfolder called ‘WUFC_moved_files’ in the upload directory.

Yes, it takes down parts of the WordPress backend, messes with jQuery, and bothers you about warnings that it doesn't work with the latest version (5.2.4), but the GUI for it works perfectly and the move operation has no hitches. It's messy and I uninstalled it as soon as I was done, but it did exactly what I downloaded it for and saved me several hours of annoyingly tedious work. Thanks!

Very good and usefull. Best of all the other similar plugins. Unfortunately it makes some problem with java or jQuery. I just wonder why the developer didn't continue to work on this plugin as there is big potential.
