Immediately after updating, our site became almost unusable. Page load times increased dramatically, both the frontend and admin became painfully slow, and overall server load skyrocketed. Tasks that previously completed in seconds were taking an extremely long time, making it impossible to manage orders or provide a good customer experience. After spending considerable time troubleshooting plugins, themes, caching, and server configuration, it became clear that the issues began with the WooCommerce update itself. Rolling back to the previous version immediately restored normal performance. Updates should improve stability and performance, not bring production websites to a standstill. Hopefully the development team investigates these performance regressions quickly, as they have the potential to impact many store owners.
