When a website visitor sends a live chat message or optional image attachment, the plugin sends this data via secure HTTPS request to `https://api.telegram.org` to create or update a dedicated topic thread in your Telegram supergroup. When an operator replies within that Telegram topic, Telegram sends a secure webhook back to your site to display the message in the visitor’s chat widget. - **Data Transmitted:** Visitor message text, visitor session identifier, current page URL, and optional customer image attachments. Data is sent only upon user action (sending a chat message or attachment). No visitor data is sent to any other third party. ## Installation 1. Upload the plugin archive via your WordPress admin (`Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin`) or extract the `wisper` folder into `/wp-content/plugins/`. 2. Activate the plugin through the `Plugins` screen in WordPress. 3. Open Telegram, search for [@BotFather](https://t.me/BotFather), send `/newbot`, and copy your bot API token. 4. Create a Telegram supergroup, enable **Topics** (Forum mode) in group settings, and add your bot as an **Administrator** with the **Manage Topics** permission enabled. 5. In your WordPress admin, go to **Wisper Settings**, enter your Bot Token and group Chat ID, and click **Set Webhook**. 6. Open your site in an incognito window and test sending a live chat message! ## FAQ ### How do I find my group’s Chat ID? Send any test message into your Telegram group, then open `https://api.telegram. org/bot/getUpdates` in your browser. Look for `"chat": {"id": -100xxxxxxxxxx}`. Copy the entire number, including the leading minus sign. ### Does the bot require admin privileges in Telegram? Yes. The bot must be an Administrator in your Telegram group with the “Manage Topics” permission enabled so it can create topic threads for incoming customer sessions. ### Why is clicking “Set Webhook” mandatory? The “Set Webhook” button registers your website address with Telegram’s servers. Without completing this step, Telegram has no address to forward operator replies back to your site. ### Does the plugin work on mobile devices? Yes, the live chat widget is responsive and optimized for smartphones, tablets, and desktops. ### Where are uploaded visitor images stored? Images sent by visitors are forwarded directly to your Telegram topic thread.
