## Description

Wahid Chat Ordering for WooCommerce adds a “chat to order” button to your WooCommerce
single product pages. When a customer clicks the button, it opens WhatsApp (or Messenger)
with a message already filled in — including the product name, selected size/color/
variation, price, and a link back to the product — so you receive a complete order
inquiry straight to your phone.

This is ideal for stores that take orders manually over WhatsApp, or that want to
offer a low-friction “ask before you buy” option next to the normal Add to Cart
button.

**Key features**

 * Adds a WhatsApp order button to WooCommerce single product pages.
 * Works with both simple and variable products — the currently selected size/color/
attributes are read automatically before the message is built.
 * Fully customizable message template with placeholders: `{product_name}`, `{variation}`,`{
   price}`, `{url}`, `{sku}`.
 * Choose where the button appears: before Add to Cart, after Add to Cart, or after
   the product summary.
 * Optionally restrict the button to specific product categories.
 * Optional Facebook Messenger button alongside WhatsApp.
 * No tracking, no external API calls, no analytics. The order link is built entirely
in the visitor’s browser when they click the button.
 * Lightweight: vanilla JavaScript, no jQuery dependency, assets only load on single
   product pages.
 * `[wahco_order_button]` shortcode as a manual fallback for themes or page builders
that override the default single product template.

**Requires WooCommerce**

This plugin adds functionality to WooCommerce single product pages and requires
WooCommerce to be installed and active.

#### Privacy / External Services

This plugin does not send data to any third-party server, does not set cookies,
and does not track visitors. When a shopper clicks the order button, their browser
opens a `wa.me` (WhatsApp) or `m.me` (Messenger) link directly — these are Meta/
WhatsApp’s own standard “click to chat” URL formats, and the request is initiated
by the visitor’s browser, not by this plugin’s server-side code. No API keys or
credentials are required, and no data is transmitted unless and until the visitor
themselves chooses to click the button and send the message.

## Installation

#### From your WordPress Dashboard

 1. Navigate to Plugins Add New.
 2. Search for “Wahid Chat Ordering for WooCommerce”.
 3. Click Install Now, then Activate.
 4. Go to Order Button in your admin menu to configure your WhatsApp number and message
    template.

#### Manual upload

 1. Download the plugin zip file.
 2. Navigate to Plugins Add New Upload Plugin.
 3. Select the zip file and click Install Now.
 4. Activate the plugin.
 5. Go to Order Button in your admin menu to configure your WhatsApp number and message
    template.

#### After activation

 1. Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active.
 2. Go to Order Button in the admin menu.
 3. Enter your WhatsApp number, including country code, digits only (e.g. `8801XXXXXXXXX`,
    no `+` or spaces).
 4. Customize the greeting, button label, position, and message template as needed.
 5. Save changes and visit any product page to see the button in action.

#### Advanced usage: manual placement with the shortcode

The automatic “Button Position” setting works by hooking into WooCommerce’s standard
template actions. If your theme or page builder replaces the default single product
template, those hooks may never fire, and the button won’t appear automatically.
In that case, place the `[wahco_order_button]` shortcode manually:

 * **Elementor / Divi / Beaver Builder:** add a “Shortcode” widget/module inside
your custom Single Product template, positioned wherever you want the button
to appear (e.g. right after the Add to Cart widget).
 * **WooCommerce Blocks / Site Editor (block themes):** add a Shortcode block inside
the Product template, near the Add to Cart block.
 * **Custom theme template (`single-product.php` or similar):** add `<?php echo
do_shortcode( '[wahco_order_button]' ); ?>` at the point in the template where
   you want the button rendered.

When the shortcode is used, the “Button Position” setting is ignored for that instance—
placement is determined entirely by where you put the shortcode.

## FAQ

### Does this plugin place orders automatically?

No. It opens a WhatsApp (or Messenger) chat with a pre-filled message. The customer
still has to press send, and you follow up with them manually — it does not create
a WooCommerce order or charge any payment.

### Does it work with variable products?

Yes. When a shopper selects a size, color, or other variation on the product page,
the plugin reads that selection and includes it in the message before opening WhatsApp.
If no variation has been selected yet, the shopper is prompted to choose one first.

### Do I need a WhatsApp Business API account?

No. This plugin uses the free, standard `wa.me` “click to chat” link format, which
works with any regular WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app account — no API key, approval
process, or paid account required.

### Will this slow down my site?

No. The plugin’s CSS/JS assets are only loaded on single WooCommerce product pages,
not site-wide, and no external requests are made until a visitor clicks the order
button themselves.

### Can I show the button only on certain product categories?

Yes. In the plugin settings, you can select one or more product categories. If none
are selected, the button shows on all products.

### Can I add a Messenger button too?

Yes. Enable the Messenger option in settings and enter your Facebook Page ID. A
second button using the `m.me` link format will appear next to the WhatsApp button.

### Does this plugin collect any data or use tracking?

No. See the Privacy section in the plugin description above.

### Will the WhatsApp/Messenger button always work?

This plugin uses WhatsApp’s and Meta’s standard `wa.me` and `m.me` “click to chat”
link formats, which are outside this plugin’s control. Meta occasionally changes
requirements or behavior for these links (for example, business verification steps
for Messenger). If a button stops working after a Meta-side change, please check
WhatsApp’s/Meta’s current documentation first, then report it on the support forum
so the plugin can be updated if needed.

### My theme or page builder doesn’t show the button. What do I do?

Some themes and page builders replace WooCommerce’s default single product template
and don’t trigger the standard hooks this plugin uses for automatic placement. If
that happens, add the shortcode `[wahco_order_button]` anywhere inside your product
page template or page-builder layout to render the button manually in that exact
spot.

## Changelog

#### 1.0.5

 * Prefixed the top-level `$sites` / `$site_id` variables in uninstall.php to satisfy
the WordPress Coding Standards prefix-all-globals sniff.

#### 1.0.4

 * Renamed the plugin to “Wahid Chat Ordering for WooCommerce” (slug: wahid-chat-
ordering-for-woocommerce) to comply with WordPress.org naming guidelines.
 * Renamed all functions, classes, constants, the stored settings option, the shortcode
tag, and enqueued asset handles from the `sob_` / `SOB_` prefix to `wahco_` /`
WAHCO_` to comply with the WordPress.org 4-character-minimum prefix requirement.
 * No functional changes.

#### 1.0.3

 * Removed the manual `load_plugin_textdomain()` call; WordPress.org automatically
loads translations for hosted plugins as of WordPress 4.6, and keeping the manual
call is now flagged as discouraged by the Plugin Check tool.
 * Bumped “Tested up to” to 7.1.

#### 1.0.2

 * Fixed a bug where WooCommerce Shop Managers (a role with `manage_woocommerce`
but not `manage_options`) could view the settings page but had their changes
silently rejected when saving. Settings can now be saved by any user who can
   view the settings page.

#### 1.0.1

 * Declared compatibility with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS /
Custom Order Tables) and with the Cart & Checkout blocks. No functional changes
to order handling — this plugin never reads or writes order data.
 * Fixed a possible PHP notice when building the order message for a product with
no price set; the message now shows “Price on request” instead.
 * Added `index.php` stub files to all plugin directories to prevent directory listing
   on misconfigured servers.
 * Added an FAQ entry noting that WhatsApp/Messenger link behavior depends on Meta’s
own `wa.me` / `m.me` link formats, which are outside this plugin’s control.
 * Bumped “Tested up to” to 7.0.

#### 1.0.0

 * Initial release: WhatsApp order button for WooCommerce single product pages,
with support for simple and variable products, customizable message template,
category restrictions, and optional Messenger button.
