## Description

VVertex Password Protect CPTs adds a password field to the editor for public WordPress
post types.

When a password is configured, visitors who open that singular item on the front
end must enter the correct password before the page is rendered.

#### Features

 * Adds a password protection meta box to public post types.
 * Supports posts, pages, and public custom post types.
 * Protects only content where a password has been configured.
 * Keeps successful access unlocked for two hours.
 * Stores a derived verification token in the visitor cookie instead of the raw
   password.
 * Sends no content or visitor data to external services.
 * Includes no advertising, tracking, or remote code.

#### Important scope note

The plugin protects direct singular front-end requests handled by the normal WordPress
template flow. It does not attempt to restrict data exposed separately through custom
REST endpoints, custom API integrations, feeds, archives, search implementations,
or third-party code.

### Does this replace WordPress core password protection?

No. This plugin uses its own password field and does not remove or modify WordPress
core’s visibility controls.

### How long does a successful unlock last?

The browser receives an unlock cookie that expires after two hours.

### Is the raw password stored in the visitor cookie?

No. The cookie contains a derived verification token tied to the content ID and
configured password.

### Does the plugin use an external service?

No. Password checks are performed locally by WordPress.

### Does uninstalling the plugin delete my content?

No. The plugin does not delete posts, pages, or custom post type content.
