Connect it and it reads your published pages, posts and products, keeps what it knows up to date automatically, and answers visitors in your voice, pointing them to the right page with a real link. There is nothing to train, no AI provider account or API key to manage, and a free plan to start with. **A Voyant AI account is required.** The plugin is the connector between your WordPress site and the Voyant AI service, which runs the assistant. Nothing is sent to Voyant until you connect your site. **What it does** * Learns from your published pages, posts and WooCommerce products, and re-learns when you edit them. * Answers with your own information. For shops it knows prices, stock and options, and can offer an add-to-basket link. * **Safe to switch on:** a newly connected site starts with the chat hidden from visitors, so you can test it privately first. Lead capture also starts off. * **Test chat:** try your assistant in the WordPress admin before visitors see it (it doesn’t use your monthly chats). Voyant may read test chats to improve the assistant. * **Teach it:** add facts and answers your website doesn’t cover, and quickly write answers to anything it couldn’t answer. * **Conversations and leads:** read what visitors asked, correct any answer, and collect names and emails if you switch lead capture on. * **Analytics:** see how many questions are asked, when, and a plain-English summary of the topics people ask about, with suggestions for what to teach it next. * **Look and personality:** choose your logo, colours, welcome message, instructions and quick-question buttons. Earlier versions of the instructions are kept, so you can restore one. * **Control who sees it:** choose which user roles can use the plugin, and separately who can read conversations and leads. Hide the chat on chosen pages, on mobile, or delay it. * Takes account of a notice you put up (for example “delays in dispatch”) when answering. * Optional email updates: a weekly summary, or a note when it couldn’t answer a question. * Keep any page out of the assistant’s knowledge with a tick box. * Agencies and developers: one Voyant AI account can run several websites, each with its own assistant. ### External services This plugin connects your website to the **Voyant AI service** (operated by Voyant Websites Ltd, company number 16946394, 9 Bancroft Way, Wootton, Northampton, NN4 6BF, UK), which provides the AI assistant. The plugin does not contact the service until a site administrator connects it (Voyant AI > Connection). Once connected, the following is sent to `https://voyantai.co.uk`: * **Your site content**, when you press “Update now” and when content changes: the text of your published pages, posts and products (including prices and stock), your site name, tagline and menus. Password-protected and private content, and pages you tick “Keep out” on, are not sent. * **Your assistant settings** (colours, welcome message, personality, quick questions) and any notice or answers you type in. If you switch on the optional email updates( weekly summary or “couldn’t answer” alerts), the email address you choose for them is also sent, and the service then emails that address. * **A notice check**, every few minutes while connected: the current site notice, only when it has changed (and every few hours while one is active). * **Your site address and WordPress/plugin version** when connecting. On your public pages, the plugin loads the chat widget script from the same service(` https://voyantai.co.uk/loader.js`). When a visitor uses the chat, **their messages**( and any name, email or phone number they choose to give) are sent to the service so it can reply. A random visit identifier (kept in the visitor’s browser only for the tab session) groups a visitor’s messages into one conversation, and thumbs up/ down ratings on replies are sent if the visitor clicks them. The service uses OpenAI to generate replies and to build the summaries and topic labels shown in the Conversations and Analytics tabs; personal details such as email addresses and phone numbers are masked before questions are analysed. **Test chat:** what you type in the plugin’s Test chat, and the assistant’s replies, are kept for up to 90 days so Voyant can see how the assistant is used and improve it. Only Voyant staff can read them; they are not shown to your visitors and don’t count towards your plan. Please don’t type personal or sensitive information there. Install and activate the plugin. 2. Open **Voyant AI** in the admin menu and go to **Connection**. 3. Paste the licence key from your free Voyant AI account (sign up at voyantai.co. uk). 4. Press **Update now**. Your assistant learns your site and sets itself up in about a minute. ## FAQ ### Do I need an account? Yes. The assistant runs on the Voyant AI service. See External services above. ### Is it free? The plugin is free. The Voyant AI service has a Free plan that includes 10 live chats a month and a Test chat for trying your assistant, plus paid plans with larger monthly allowances. Prices are on voyantai.co.uk. ### Does it slow my site down? The chat widget loads asynchronously after your page. ### What happens when I uninstall it? The plugin removes its settings from your site.
