## Description

Velox Featured Image for Elementor is a focused Elementor addon for displaying the
current WordPress Featured Image dynamically inside Elementor layouts.

It is designed for users who want a lightweight solution instead of installing a
large Elementor addon suite for one common task.

The plugin includes three complementary tools:

 * **Featured Image widget** — display the current WordPress Featured Image directly
in Elementor content, with fallback image, accessible alt-text modes, caption/
link options, responsive sizing and styling.
 * **Featured Image Background** — use the current Featured Image as the background
of supported Elementor Containers and legacy Sections without deleting the existing
   Elementor background.
 * **Featured Hero widget** — create a responsive hero/banner using the Featured
Image plus a dynamic page/post title or custom heading, optional pre-heading,
   sub-heading, description and CTA.

The Featured Image remains native WordPress content. Change the Featured Image in
WordPress and Velox resolves the new image dynamically without storing a second
image assignment inside the widget.

#### Common use cases

 * Display a post or page Featured Image inside Elementor content.
 * Turn an Elementor-built Page Title area into a dynamic image banner.
 * Build reusable page-title or documentation layouts where each page supplies its
   own Featured Image.
 * Create blog, portfolio, landing-page or custom-post-type heroes.
 * Add a Featured Image background to an existing Elementor design without rebuilding
   its title/breadcrumb content.

#### Lightweight by design

Velox Featured Image for Elementor adds no frontend JavaScript, creates no custom
database tables, stores no plugin-wide options, makes no remote service calls, and
sends no telemetry.

This plugin is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Elementor Ltd.

### Compatibility

 * Requires WordPress 6.8 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer.
 * Requires Elementor 3.26.0 or newer; Elementor Pro is optional.
 * Featured Image and Featured Hero are designed to coexist safely in current Elementor
   4.x/hybrid environments.
 * Featured Image Background is exposed only on Elementor layout elements that Velox
can extend through supported public APIs. Some Atomic Editor elements may therefore
not show the Velox background section.
 * Theme-controlled title bars rendered outside Elementor are intentionally outside
   the plugin scope.

### Privacy

Velox Featured Image for Elementor does not collect, store, transmit, or share personal
data. It makes no remote service requests and adds no tracking cookies.

## Installation

 1. Install and activate Elementor.
 2. Install and activate Velox Featured Image for Elementor.
 3. Edit a page, post, or supported custom post type with Elementor.
 4. Use **Featured Image** or **Featured Hero** from the **Velox** widget category,
or select a supported Container/Section and open **Style > Velox Featured Image**.
 5. Assign a normal WordPress Featured Image to the current content item. Velox resolves
    it automatically.

the Velox widgets.

## FAQ

### Does this replace WordPress Featured Images?

No. Velox uses the native Featured Image already assigned to the current WordPress
post, page, or thumbnail-enabled custom post type.

### Does it require Elementor Pro?

No. It is designed for Elementor Free and also coexists with Elementor Pro.

### Can I use the Featured Image in a Page Title or banner?

Yes, when that Page Title/banner is built with Elementor. Select its outer supported
Container or legacy Section and enable **Style > Velox Featured Image > Use Featured
Image**.

### Will changing the Featured Image require me to resave the Elementor layout?

No. Velox resolves the current Featured Image dynamically. If a full-page cache
or CDN serves an older rendered page, clear that external cache as you normally
would after content changes.

### What happens if a page has no Featured Image?

The Featured Image widget outputs nothing unless a fallback image is configured.
Featured Hero remains usable without an image, and Featured Image Background falls
back to the configured Velox fallback image or the original Elementor background.

### Can I use it with custom post types?

Yes, where the custom post type supports WordPress post thumbnails and the content
is rendered through Elementor.

### Does the plugin work with every theme Page Title system?

No. Velox is intentionally Elementor-focused. Theme-controlled title bars that are
rendered outside Elementor are not modified by this plugin.

### Why do some Atomic Editor elements not show Featured Image Background?

Velox only injects background controls where Elementor provides a supported extension
path. Featured Image and Featured Hero can still be used in compatible mixed/hybrid
layouts. Velox does not patch or reverse-engineer private Atomic Editor internals.

### Does it collect or transmit data?

No. Velox does not collect telemetry, create tracking cookies, or send data to Velox
or any third-party service.
