If you sell apparel, footwear, print-on-demand or anything with three or more attributes, you already know the routine: page, click, expand, type, scroll, repeat. VariMatrix replaces that screen with a **spreadsheet-style grid built right into the product edit page**. Every variation is a row. Every field is a cell. Click, type, Tab, save. Editing 500 variation prices becomes a two-minute job instead of an hour. #### Bulk edit variation prices and stock in seconds Select the rows you want — or filter down to exactly the ones you need — and apply a bulk action to all of them at once: * **Set regular price or sale price** across hundreds of variations in one click. * **Increase or decrease prices by percentage** — perfect for seasonal sales, supplier price rises or currency adjustments. * **Increase or decrease prices by a fixed amount** when you need precise margins. * **Set stock quantity and stock status** in bulk instead of one variation at a time. * **Enable or disable variations** without opening them. * **Generate SKUs from a pattern** so every variation gets a consistent, predictable SKU. * **Delete unwanted variations** in a single operation. #### Built for products with hundreds or thousands of variations VariMatrix loads variations in chunks and renders them with virtual scrolling, so only around 30 rows ever exist in the DOM. A product with 1,000 variations scrolls as smoothly as one with ten. No pagination, no waiting on a page reload, no browser lock-up. #### Inline editing, without leaving the product screen Edit prices, sale prices, stock quantity, stock status, SKU, enabled toggle, featured image, description, weight and dimensions — all directly in the grid, on the same screen where you already manage the product. #### Keyboard driven, like a real spreadsheet Arrow keys move between cells. F2 or Enter starts editing. Enter saves and moves down. Escape cancels. Tab walks across the row. Drag the fill-down handle to copy a value down an entire column. If you can use Excel or Google Sheets, you already know how to use VariMatrix. #### Filter and sort any column, then bulk edit what is left Pick multiple values per column, combine filters across several columns at once, and sort by anything. Show only the “Blue / XL” variations that are out of stock, then apply a bulk price change to exactly that set. This is the workflow that makes large catalogues manageable. #### Nothing gets half-saved Edits stage in the browser as amber cells, so you can see everything you have changed before committing. One Save button writes the changes in safe batches of 25 with a progress bar and per-row reporting. If a row fails, it stays highlighted with the reason, so you always know exactly what saved and what did not. #### Your columns, your layout Show, hide and reorder columns to match how you actually work. Your layout is remembered for next time. #### Safe by design * **Zero frontend footprint.** VariMatrix loads no scripts, no styles and no hooks on the frontend. Your storefront is provably untouched, and your Core Web Vitals do not move a pixel. * **Proper WooCommerce writes.** Every change goes through the WooCommerce CRUD layer, so price lookup tables, transients, caches and third-party hooks behave exactly as if you had edited each variation by hand. * **No tracking, no external calls.** VariMatrix makes no outbound requests, bundles no third-party services and collects no data of any kind. CSV export and re-import works, but it means leaving WordPress, matching ID columns by hand, and hoping nothing gets mangled on the way back in. In your WordPress admin, go to **Plugins Add New**. 2. Search for **VariMatrix**. 3. Click **Install Now**, then **Activate**. 4. Edit any variable product and open the **Variations** tab — the grid is already there. #### Manual installation 1. Download the plugin ZIP file. 2. Go to **Plugins Add New Upload Plugin** and select the ZIP, or upload the folder to `/wp-content/plugins/varimatrix`. 3. Activate VariMatrix from the **Plugins** screen. 4. Edit any variable product and open the **Variations** tab. #### Settings Go to **WooCommerce VariMatrix** to choose whether the grid or the classic view opens first, and whether plugin options are removed on uninstall. ## FAQ ### How do I bulk edit WooCommerce variation prices? Open any variable product, go to the Variations tab, select the variations you want( or filter down to them first), choose a bulk action such as “Set regular price” or “Increase price by %”, and click Apply. Then hit Save. Hundreds of prices update in one pass. ### Can I bulk update stock for product variations? Yes. Use the “Set stock quantity” or “Set stock status” bulk actions, or edit the stock column inline like a spreadsheet and use the fill-down handle to copy a value down the whole column. ### How many variations can VariMatrix handle? Products with 1,000+ variations load and scroll smoothly. Variations are fetched in chunks and rendered with virtual scrolling, so browser memory stays flat no matter how large the product is. ### Does it work with variation swatch plugins? Yes. Swatch plugins operate on the storefront; VariMatrix operates only in the admin. There is no overlap and no conflict. ### Will it change my theme or slow down my storefront? No. VariMatrix registers nothing on the frontend — no scripts, no styles, no hooks. Your storefront and your page speed scores are completely unaffected. ### Where did the classic WooCommerce variations UI go? Nowhere. Use the “Classic view” toggle at the top of the grid to switch back at any time. You can also set the classic view as your default in WooCommerce VariMatrix. ### Is my data safe if a save fails halfway through? Yes. Edits are staged in the browser and written in batches of 25. Every row reports success or failure individually, and failed rows stay highlighted with their error message, so you can see exactly what did and did not save and retry just those rows. ### Does VariMatrix send any data anywhere? No. VariMatrix makes no external requests, bundles no third-party libraries or services, and includes no tracking, analytics or telemetry whatsoever. ### Does it work with custom fields added by other plugins? VariMatrix edits the standard WooCommerce variation fields listed above. All writes go through the WooCommerce CRUD layer, so plugins that hook into variation saves continue to run normally. ### Do I need to know how to use a spreadsheet? It helps, but it is not required. You can click a cell and type.
