## Description

Every plugin or theme update is a small gamble. Upsure takes the risk out:

 1. **Backup first** — the plugin’s or theme’s files are copied before WordPress touches
them. If the backup fails, the update is cancelled.
 2. **Check after** — your key pages (home, product, cart, checkout…) are loaded before
and after the update and compared for errors, crashes, and missing content.
 3. **Roll back automatically** — if the update broke something, the previous version
is restored and you get an email explaining what happened. WordPress won’t auto-
update to the broken version again.

Works with manual updates, bulk updates, and WordPress background auto-updates.

## Installation

 1. Install Upsure from Plugins Add New, or upload the plugin folder to `wp-content/
    plugins/`.
 2. Activate it. It picks the most important pages of your site to check and starts
protecting every plugin and theme update straight away.
 3. Optional: open Tools Upsure to adjust the pages, then use “Run health check now”
and “Send test email” to confirm your site can check itself and send you alerts.

## FAQ

### Which pages are checked?

Up to 10 pages you choose under Tools Upsure. When you first activate the plugin,
it picks the most important ones for you: the home page, pages with contact or booking
forms, the pages in your menu, and, with WooCommerce, the checkout, cart, shop and
a product. You can tick or untick suggestions, add any page from a list, or type
in other URLs on your site.

### Where are backups stored?

In `wp-content/uploads/upsure-backups-` followed by a random code, as zip archives.
The archives can’t run as code, the folder name can’t be guessed, and the folder
also blocks web access on Apache servers. Uninstalling the plugin keeps the backups;
delete that folder yourself if you no longer need them.

### My host asks for FTP details when I update plugins. Does it work?

Yes. Backups are made in your uploads folder as usual, and when a broken update
has to be undone, Upsure restores the files through the same FTP or SSH connection
WordPress used for the update. If you restore a backup by hand from Tools Upsure,
WordPress asks for your connection details there too, the same way it does for updates.

### My host blocks the site from loading its own pages.

Checks will be marked “inconclusive” and you’ll be emailed instead of rolled back.
Use “Run health check now” on Tools Upsure to test.

## Changelog

#### 0.2.0

 * New: the plugin suggests which pages to check: your home page, pages with contact
or booking forms (including forms built with Elementor, Oxygen, Bricks and Beaver
Builder), your menu pages and, with WooCommerce, the checkout, cart, shop and
a product. New installs start with the most important ones selected.
 * New: “Add a page” adds any page or custom post (services, products…) to the list
straight away, with a counter for the 10-page limit.
 * New: “Send test email” button, to check that alerts can reach you before you
   need them.
 * New: theme updates are protected too: backed up first, checked after, and rolled
back automatically if they break your site.
 * New: works on hosts where WordPress updates plugins over FTP or SSH. Before,
Upsure cancelled updates on those hosts because it could not make a backup.
 * New: delete backups you no longer need. Backups of plugins you’ve deleted are
marked “not installed” and kept until you remove them, so a plugin deleted by
   mistake can be restored.

#### 0.1.0

 * Initial release.
