# Coder Vibe UK Company Details

## Description

UK limited companies must show their company name, registration number, registered
office address and place of registration on their website, plus their VAT number
if registered. Sole traders must show their name and address. UK Company Details
lets you enter these once and display them everywhere.

**Features**

 * Business types: limited company, LLP, sole trader, partnership.
 * Fields: legal name, trading name, company number (format validated), registered
   office or business address, place of registration (England and Wales, Scotland,
   Northern Ireland), VAT number (loose GB/XI format check), contact email and phone,
   optional ICO registration number.
 * `[cvukcd_details]` shortcode (use `layout="inline"` for a single line).
 * Server-side rendered block, no build step needed.
 * Optional automatic footer line with left, centre or right alignment.
 * Optional Organization JSON-LD (legalName, vatID, address).
 * Compliance check panel listing, in plain English, what is missing for your business
   type.

**Privacy and external services**

This plugin makes no external requests, does not look up data from Companies House
or any other service, and does not collect or transmit personal data. All details
are stored in your own WordPress database.

This plugin provides 1 block.

 *   UK Company Details Displays your UK business details (name, number, registered
   office, VAT) from the plugin settings.

## Installation

 1. Upload the `uk-company-details` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install via
    the Plugins screen.
 2. Activate the plugin.
 3. Go to Settings > UK Company Details and fill in your details.
 4. Add the `[cvukcd_details]` shortcode or the UK Company Details block to a page,
    or enable the footer line.

## FAQ

### Does this look up my details from Companies House?

No. The plugin makes no external API calls. You enter your details manually.

### Is this legal advice?

No. It is a convenience tool. You are responsible for checking what your business
must display.

### What format is the company number?

Eight characters: eight digits, two letters followed by six digits (for example 
SC123456), or R followed by seven digits for older Northern Ireland companies (for
example R0000123).

### Which VAT formats are accepted?

A loose UK format: GB (or XI for Northern Ireland businesses) followed by 9 or 12
digits (or GD/HA plus 3 digits). Nine digits without a prefix are accepted and GB
is added.

### How do I show the details on a page?

Use the shortcode `[cvukcd_details]`, or add the “UK Company Details” block.

### What is removed when I delete the plugin?

Deleting the plugin removes its saved settings from the database.
