## Description
Tumblr Widget allows you to display the contents of a Tumblr in any widget-enabled
area of your WordPress blog. You can import all Tumblr posts, or only those posts
with a specified tag, or specify certain categories (photo, link, quotation, etc.)
to display.

**Controls**
* _Title:_ The title you want to appear above the Tumblr on your WordPress page.
Leave blank if you like.
* _Your Tumblr:_ The URL of the Tumblr you want to import. It doesn’t have to contain‘
tumblr.com’. Leave off the ‘http://’ at the beginning.
* _Tag to show:_ Enter a single tag to display only posts with that tag. Leave
blank to show all Tumblr posts.
* _Tag to hide:_ Enter a single tag to hide all posts with that tag.
* _Maximum number of posts to display:_ This number is a _maximum,_ as the text
suggests.
* _Link title to Tumblr:_ Turns the widget title into a link to your Tumblr’s URL.
If you don’t enter a title in the title field, you won’t get a link.
* _Link to each post on Tumblr:_ When checked, this displays the date of the Tumblr
post, linking the date to the original post on the Tumblr site.
* _Images link to Tumblr post:_ By default, images in photo posts link to a large
image file. When this box is checked, they link to the Tumblr post instead.
* _Add inline CSS padding:_ Adds a CSS style rule adding 8 pixels of padding above
and below each Tumblr post. Disable to prevent it messing up your own CSS.
* _Set video width:_ Resizes videos to help them fit in your theme. Enter a value
in pixels. 50px is the minimum. Height will be adjusted automatically in proportion
to the width you choose.
* _Show:_ Include or exclude different post types in the feed.
* _Photo size:_ Tumblr provides each photo in six different sizes. Whichever size
you choose to display, the image links to the 1,280-pixel version.
## Installation
1. Upload `tumblr-widget.php` to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory.
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Widgets’ page in the ‘Appearance’ menu in WordPress.
## FAQ
How can I change the way the Tumblr posts display?
Use CSS. You can add targeted style rules to your `style.css` file, in your theme
folder. Each post is a `` with the class “tumblr_post.” Each post also has the
class of its post type: “quote”, “link”, “conversation”, “regular”, “photo”, “audio”,
or “video”.
Can I filter by more than one tag
Tumblr’s API only supports searching on a single tag, unfortunately.
Can I display photos at a different size other than the six in the dropdown menu?
Choose the nearest size that’s bigger than what you want, then adjust the photo’s
width and height properties using CSS.
Can I import and display someone else’s Tumblr?
Yes, you can. But you shouldn’t, unless you have their permission.

Awesome plugin… until it wasn't. Latest version of PHP (8.3) seems to have irreparably
broken the plugin and results in a critical site error if it is active – breaks
Wordpress, not able to access Dashboard, website no longer displays. Seemed OK up
to PHP 7.3. Looking at the lack of recent activity in the support forums, and with
the last update to the plugin being 10 years ago (?) I think that this one has sadly
finally met the end of its usefulness. Great while it lasted.

A long time ago, I installed this plug-in to show photo posts to Tumblr from Flickr.
In November 2015, the way that Flickr interacts with Tumblr has changed. (Both Flickr
and Tumblr are owned by Yahoo, and have been concerned about reuse of images). Photos
from Tumblr now show up a "video". See https://www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/72157660534398877/.
On my Wordpress blog, I just noticed that the photos weren't updating from the Tumblr
RSS feed. That RSS feed looks ago, so I looked into the plugin settings. Checking
the "video" button and setting a width (of 150px) has restored the function. Thanks
for this plugin. Its resilience to code changes at Tumblr (and Flickr) reflects
good design.

This does a very basic job of showing Tumblr posts (for all post types). What it
doesn't do is let you fine tune how the results look: forced custom width (it only
allows you to use pre-determined widths), borders, etc. It does let you filter which
kinds of Tumblr posts you want to show, though. Images simply butt up against each
other in one big vertical line and it looks ugly. It is also forcing an indentation
and showing a bullet to the left of every RSS image, not sure why. Would love to
see an update to this widget!
