Enter the chat key from your toinbox account, save, and the chat widget appears on every page. You answer conversations from your toinbox dashboard (and mobile), with features such as visitor presence, typing indicators, canned replies, tags, and notes. This plugin is a connector for the toinbox service. A toinbox account is required to use it. The plugin contains no locked or trial code — it simply displays the chat widget for the account whose key you enter. **Features** * One-click connect — sign in to toinbox and approve; the widget installs automatically. * Or paste your chat key manually and you are live. * Real-time chat with website visitors. * Visitor presence, location, and typing indicators (shown in your toinbox inbox). * Canned responses, tags, and private notes for your team. * Loads only when you have entered a key; nothing runs otherwise. ### External services This plugin connects your website to **toinbox** (https://toinbox.ai), a live chat service, to provide the chat widget. When this plugin is active and you have saved a chat key, the chat widget JavaScript is loaded from `https://app.toinbox.ai/api/chat/widget.js` using the key you entered. The widget runs only in visitors’ browsers. What is sent to toinbox, and when: * Only when a visitor opens or interacts with the chat widget: the message text they (and your agents) type, the page URL, an approximate location derived from the visitor’s IP address, a randomly generated visitor identifier (stored in the visitor’s browser), and — if the visitor chooses to provide them — their name and email. * No data is sent to toinbox for visitors who do not open the chat. This service is provided by toinbox. By entering your chat key and using this plugin you agree to the toinbox Terms of Service and Privacy Policy: * Terms of Service: https://toinbox.ai/terms * Privacy Policy: https://toinbox.ai/privacy ### Privacy This plugin sends data to the toinbox service only when a visitor opens or uses the chat widget, as described in the “External services” section above. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, and choose the toinbox-live-chat.zip file. Click Install Now, then Activate. 2. Go to Settings, toinbox Live Chat. 3. Paste your chat key (it looks like cw_ followed by 32 characters). You will find it in your toinbox dashboard under Live Chat, Install & Settings. 4. Save. The chat bubble now appears on your site. ## FAQ ### Do I need a toinbox account? Yes. The widget displays the live chat for the toinbox account whose chat key you enter. You can create an account at https://toinbox.ai. ### Where do I find my chat key? In your toinbox dashboard, open Live Chat, then Install & Settings. The key looks like cw_ followed by 32 characters. ### Where do I answer the chats? In your toinbox dashboard (and on mobile). This plugin only displays the widget on your website. ### Does it slow down my site? The widget script is small and loads asynchronously in the footer. Nothing loads at all until you have saved a key. ### How do I remove it? Deactivate and delete the plugin.
