Visitors upload a photo, pick one of your art styles, and receive an AI-generated version they can download. Place it on any page with the `[tspi_illustrator]` shortcode. You define the styles (name, preview and transformation prompt) and decide who can use them: everyone, logged-in customers, or only buyers of a specific WooCommerce product. Monetize with credit plans, pay-per-image checkout, or both. **Requirements** * An OpenAI API key (your own; OpenAI usage is billed by OpenAI to your account). * WooCommerce for credit plans, paid conversions and customer galleries. **Third-party service** Photos are sent to the OpenAI Images API to be converted. See the “External services” section below for what is sent, when, and links to OpenAI’s terms and privacy policy. An OpenAI API key is required for AI image generation. WooCommerce is required for credit plans, customer account galleries, and paid conversions. ### External services This plugin sends photos to the OpenAI Images API (https://api.openai.com/v1/images/ edits) to create the AI-generated versions. The service is required for image generation and uses the OpenAI API key you enter in the plugin settings. Data sent: each photo a visitor chooses to convert, the text prompt of the selected style, and the configured model name, sent only when a visitor starts a conversion( for paid conversions, only after payment is confirmed). Your OpenAI API key is sent as the authorization credential. The plugin makes no other external requests. ## Installation 1. Install and activate WooCommerce for credit plans and payment features. 2. Upload the plugin ZIP file through Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin. 3. Activate Themeshawk AI Photo Illustrator. 4. Open AI Illustrator in the WordPress admin sidebar. 5. Configure your OpenAI API key and generator settings. 6. Create cartoon styles under AI Illustrator > Cartoon Styles. 7. Create WooCommerce products and configure their credits and style access. 8. Add [tspi_illustrator] to a page to display the generator. You must configure your own OpenAI API key to generate cartoon images. API usage may incur charges from OpenAI. ### Is WooCommerce required? WooCommerce is required for credit plans, customer account galleries, and paid conversions. Some generator functionality may work without WooCommerce, but commerce-related features will not be available. ### Can customers generate images for free? Generation depends on your configured billing mode, available credits, and style access. In pay-per-image mode, customers pay through WooCommerce checkout. ### Can I create my own cartoon styles? Yes. Create and publish styles under AI Illustrator > Cartoon Styles. Each style can have its own transformation prompt and access settings. ### Where are generated images stored? Generated images are saved in the plugin’s uploads directory and associated with the customer’s account. Administrators can review generated images through the plugin’s admin gallery. ### Does the plugin support subscriptions? Recurring credit top-ups are supported when the separate WooCommerce Subscriptions extension is installed and renewal orders are processed successfully. ### What happens if a conversion fails? The plugin supports retries for failed photos, subject to its configured attempt limit. Successful photos are not retried automatically, and the plugin does not automatically refund failed paid conversions. ### Does payment automatically start image generation? Paid conversions start after the associated WooCommerce order has a qualifying paid status and payment date.
