Pick it, and that download becomes a tip jar. Visitors choose an amount, hit the button, and check out as usual. Think “buy me a coffee” for your digital products. No extra payment gateway. No new checkout. Just EDD, doing what it already does well. #### Why you’ll like it * **Simple.** Choose the Donate product type. That’s the setup. * **Flexible.** Quick-select amount buttons plus an optional custom amount field. * **Safe.** Set a minimum and a maximum so tips always make sense. * **Yours.** Change every label, the button text and the placeholder. * **Native.** Works with the normal EDD cart and checkout. #### Perfect for * Creators who want optional tips for free downloads * Open source authors looking for support * Pay-what-you-want plugins, themes, ebooks and assets * Charity and non-profit digital resources * Any shop that wants a simple custom donation amount #### What’s in the free plugin * “Donate” product type for any download * Predefined donation amounts (global, one per line) * Optional custom amount input * Minimum and maximum donation limits (global) * Editable labels, button text and input placeholder * Live preview on the settings page * Shortcode: `[tdfe_donation_prices id="123"]` * Responsive, accessible amount selector * Works with EDD’s AJAX add-to-cart #### Free vs Pro The free plugin is complete and has no trial, no time limit and no locked buttons. The Pro version is a **separate plugin** for people who want control per download. **Included in both Free and Pro** * Donate product type * Predefined amounts (global) * Custom amount input (global on/off) * Min and max limits (global) * Editable labels and button text * Live preview and shortcode **Pro only** * Different predefined amounts for each download * Pre-selected default amount for each download * Min and max limits for each download * Custom amount on/off for each download [Get the Pro plugin](https://athemeart.com/downloads/edd-tips-and-donations/) #### Upgrading to Pro 1. Get the Pro plugin from [athemeart.com](https://athemeart.com/downloads/edd-tips-and-donations/). 2. Upload and activate it like any other plugin. 3. The free plugin pauses itself while Pro is active. You can then delete it. The free plugin never contacts any server and has no license or account system. #### Not affiliated This plugin is an independent add-on. It is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Easy Digital Downloads (EDD) or Sandhills Development, LLC. “EDD” and “Easy Digital Downloads” are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to indicate compatibility. ## Screenshots [[ [[ ## Installation 1. Make sure **Easy Digital Downloads** is installed and active. 2. Upload the `tdfe-tips-donations-edd` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install it from **Plugins Add New**. 3. Activate the plugin. 4. Go to **Downloads Tips & Donations** to set your amounts and labels. 5. Edit a download and set its **Product Type** to **Donate**. ## FAQ ### Does it need Easy Digital Downloads? Yes. It is an add-on for Easy Digital Downloads and does nothing without it. ### How do I turn a download into a tip jar? Edit the download and choose **Donate** as the product type. Then publish or update it. ### Can I use different amounts on different downloads? Not in the free plugin. Amounts, limits and labels are global. Per-download amounts and limits are available in the separate Pro plugin. ### Can visitors type their own amount? Yes. Turn on **Enable Custom Amount** in the settings. Their amount must respect your minimum and maximum. ### Can I change the button text? Yes. Go to **Downloads Tips & Donations** and edit the Donate button text and the other labels. ### How do I show the amount selector somewhere else? Use the shortcode `[tdfe_donation_prices id="123"]` with the ID of a Donate download. ### Does the free plugin connect to an external service? No. It makes no remote requests and collects no data. ### Can I run Free and Pro together? No need. If both are active, the free plugin pauses itself and shows a notice. Delete the free plugin once Pro is working. ## Reviews There are no reviews for this plugin. ## Contributors & Developers “TDFE Tips & Donations for EDD” is open source software.
