Shoppers can add products to their cart and check orders in chat. Product-aware answers based on a synced store catalog require a connected Managed widget. Catalog limits depend on your Stylchat plan. WooCommerce must be installed and activated before activating this plugin. ### Key Features * **Store Connection**: Connect your WooCommerce store to your Stylchat account through the connection flow. A direct Widget ID installs chat without catalog synchronization. * **In-Chat Add-to-Cart**: Shoppers can add recommended products from chat, select available product options, and open their cart or checkout. Cart display updates depend on the store theme. * **Managed Catalog Synchronization**: Sync product titles, descriptions, variations, prices, images, stock status and categories using background jobs. Current product limits are Free: 20, Starter: 5,000 and Pro: 10,000. BYOI widgets use your own workflow instead of a Stylchat-synced catalog. * **Order Lookup**: Shoppers can look up their WooCommerce order status with their order number and billing email. This shows information recorded in WooCommerce; it is not a carrier tracking service. * **Privacy Tools**: Adds suggested text to the WordPress privacy policy guide and personal data export/erase hooks. The chat widget never loads before the visitor consents: it follows the selected WP Consent API, custom banner, or built- in consent mode. External modes never display a second prompt. * **Optional Widget Credit**: The widget footer credit and link are off by default on this WordPress site. An administrator can opt in under Stylchat settings; chat works without the credit. * **HPOS Support**: Declares WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage compatibility and uses WooCommerce order APIs. * **Background Loading**: Loads the assistant script asynchronously after consent and processes catalog synchronization in background batches. ### External Services This plugin relies on Stylchat, a service operated by Trailops LLC. It does not work without a Stylchat account. * **Stylchat app (`https://app.stylchat.com`)**: - When you click Connect with Stylchat, your browser opens the Stylchat connect page with your store URL, site name and WordPress admin return URL, so you can sign in and choose a widget. - After the site is connected, the chat widget script (`/v1/embed.nomodule.js`) loads on front-end pages, only after the visitor consents (see the FAQ below). Visitors’ browsers then download it, which sends their IP address and user agent to Stylchat. * **Stylchat API (`https://api.stylchat.com`)**: - The widget loads its settings from here and sends visitors’ chat messages here. - With each chat message the widget also sends the page address and title, the product being viewed, and a cart summary (product names, quantities and prices), so answers fit what the shopper is looking at. The automatic page/cart summary does not include customer names, emails or addresses. Visitors may include personal information in their own chat messages. - When catalog sync is on, your store sends product data (name, SKU, price, categories, tags, descriptions, stock, image and product URLs) when products are created, updated or deleted, and on a full resync. Catalog synchronization does not include customer records or orders. Separately, chat-assisted orders report their order ID, total, currency and attribution tag (widget ID and chat timestamp) to Stylchat for attribution. Transient delivery failures are retried in the background. - When an enabled chat offer issues a signed discount grant, the browser sends the grant to your store to create a one-use WooCommerce coupon. Availability depends on your Stylchat configuration and plan. - When you disconnect the store or delete the plugin, it requests deletion of its access token and synced product catalog from Stylchat. * **Logged-in shoppers**: the plugin passes a logged-in shopper’s email address to the chat widget in their browser, only to pre-fill the order-lookup form. Upload the `stylchat-for-woocommerce` folder to your `/wp-content/plugins/` directory, or install the `.zip` file directly through **Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin** in your WordPress dashboard. 2. Install and activate WooCommerce, then activate Stylchat through the **Plugins** menu in WordPress. 3. Go to **WooCommerce > Stylchat**. 4. Click **Connect with Stylchat** to link your store in one click. (Pasting a Widget ID installs the chat widget only; catalog sync needs the 1-click connection.) 5. For a connected Managed widget, trigger an initial catalog sync or allow the background worker to sync products within your plan limit. Configure and verify visitor consent before enabling chat for shoppers. ## FAQ ### Does Stylchat work on WordPress websites without WooCommerce? No. This plugin requires WooCommerce. Catalog sync additionally needs a connected Managed widget. ### Which Stylchat plans include catalog sync? Catalog sync needs a connected Managed widget. Current limits are Free: 20 products, Starter: 5,000 products and Pro: 10,000 products. Other service limits and available features depend on your plan. BYOI (bring your own infrastructure) widgets can be installed with a Widget ID, but products are not synced to Stylchat: your own workflow answers product questions. ### Does catalog synchronization slow down my store? Catalog jobs run in background batches through Action Scheduler. The default batch size is 50 and can be adjusted from 10 to 250 in settings. Background work still uses server resources; choose a batch size appropriate for your hosting. ### Is Stylchat compatible with WooCommerce HPOS (High-Performance Order Storage)? Yes. The plugin declares HPOS compatibility and reads orders only through the WooCommerce order API, so it works with both HPOS and legacy post storage. ### Does the widget wait for cookie consent? Yes. Select the consent integration and category under WooCommerce > Settings > Stylchat AI > Privacy & Consent. The default is WP Consent API: your banner must share an explicit choice through this API. Installing the API alone is insufficient. Custom mode supports other banners through a site adapter (see consent-integration. md). Both external modes keep chat blocked until explicit consent arrives, never reuse built-in opt-in, and never show a second prompt. Built-in mode must be selected explicitly; it offers a widget-scoped “Load chat assistant” button and withdrawal control. Withdrawal reloads the page to unload the running widget. Loading sends the visitor’s IP address and user agent to Stylchat. Connect your banner or select built-in mode, then clear page/script caches and verify consent acceptance and withdrawal. ### Does the widget display a Stylchat credit? Not by default when installed through this plugin. An administrator can enable “ Show Widget Credit” in Stylchat settings to display the widget footer credit and link. The chat widget works with this setting off. ### Which prices does Stylchat use? The product prices stored in WooCommerce, before any tax display setting is applied. If your store shows prices with tax, the assistant quotes the stored (ex-tax) price. ### Is customer data secure? Communication with Stylchat uses HTTPS. In-chat order lookups require order number and billing email verification with rate limiting. After repeated failed attempts on an order, chat lookups for it pause for an hour; during that time a lookup with the right email sends the order status to the billing address instead (at most once an hour), and signed-in customers can still look up their own orders. Chat conversations are stored by Stylchat.
