Pages, products, and custom post types remain untouched and do not appear in active Strive workflows. If an earlier Strive version stored metadata for those content types, that historical metadata is preserved during the update. ### External Services Strive includes the Freemius WordPress SDK for optional usage insights, account management, purchases, licensing, and updates for the separately distributed Pro plugin. Install Strive from the WordPress Plugin Directory, or upload the plugin ZIP through** Plugins Add New Upload Plugin**. 2. Activate **Strive Content Calendar**. 3. On the optional Freemius consent screen, choose **Allow & Continue** or **Skip**. The Free editorial workflow works either way. 4. Open **Posts Content Calendar**. 5. Choose Solo or Team Workspace and optionally import the visible Strive Editorial Starter checklist. ## FAQ ### Does Strive Free require AI? No. Calendar, Pipeline, checklists, notes, and Local Readiness run inside your WordPress installation without an AI provider. ### Does Strive send my article content to an external service? Strive Free does not send article titles, bodies, notes, checklists, or Local Readiness results to an AI service. The optional Freemius SDK handles consented product and account communication as described under External Services. ### Does Strive manage Pages or custom post types? No. Strive 2 intentionally manages WordPress Posts—the articles published by the site. Historical Strive metadata attached to Pages or custom post types is not deleted. ### What is the difference between Solo and Team Workspace? Both modes include the same Free editorial tools. Solo reduces unnecessary authorship detail. Team keeps authorship and coordination context visible. You can change modes later without migrating article data. ### What happens if I deactivate or remove Strive? Your WordPress posts remain WordPress posts. Strive does not delete article content when deactivated. Strive options and post metadata are retained unless deliberately removed by the site owner. ### Can I upgrade to Strive Pro later? Yes. The separately distributed Pro plugin replaces the Free plugin and reads compatible Strive options and metadata.
