## Description

Smoothpop helps you turn abandoning visitors into subscribers, leads, and sales,
before they leave your site for good.

Show the right popup, to the right visitor, at the right moment. Smoothpop detects
when someone’s about to leave (exit intent) and can also trigger on a scroll, a
timer, or a click, so you’re not locked into one tactic.

**Why Smoothpop**

 * 🎯 5 trigger types — exit intent, scroll depth, time delay, click, or page load
 * 🎨 Full visual control — colors, shadows, borders, position, your own close icon
 * 📅 Smart targeting — specific pages, post types, device, referrer/UTM source,
   and scheduling
 * 📊 Built-in stats — see views, closes, and clicks per popup, no separate analytics
   needed
 * ⚡ Lightweight — assets only load on pages where a popup can actually appear
 * 🆓 Genuinely free — no visitor caps, no feature paywall, no account required

#### How it works

 1. Create a popup and write its content in the familiar WordPress editor (HTML, media,
and shortcodes from your other plugins all work).
 2. Style it in the Appearance tab: size, colors, shadow, corner radius, close button
    style and placement.
 3. Choose a Trigger: exit intent, scroll depth, a timer, a click, or page load, with
frequency capping so the same visitor isn’t shown it constantly.
 4. Set Display Rules: which pages, which devices, a date range, a referrer/UTM match,
and a priority if you’re running more than one popup.
 5. Enable it, and check the Views/Clicks columns on the popup list to see how it’s
    performing.

## Installation

 1. Upload the `smoothpop` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install directly through
    the Plugins screen in WordPress.
 2. Activate the plugin.
 3. Go to Smoothpop Add New to create your first popup.

## FAQ

### Can I add a form to my popup?

Yes. Paste in a shortcode from your form plugin (e.g. `[contact-form-7 id="123"]`),
or write a plain HTML form directly in the content box.

### Does the content box support JavaScript or PHP?

No, by design. It supports HTML only, including forms. For JavaScript or PHP, use
a dedicated code-snippet plugin alongside Smoothpop.

### Will this slow down my site?

Smoothpop only loads its CSS and JavaScript on pages where a popup is actually eligible
to show, based on your display rules.
