When it proposes an improved SEO title or meta description and you approve it, SEOptimate applies the change through the standard WordPress REST API. Rank Math (and older Yoast SEO versions) do not expose their title and description fields to the REST API, which means WordPress silently ignores those writes. This small connector registers exactly those fields, so approved changes actually arrive. What it does: * Registers the Rank Math title, description and focus keyword fields in the REST API for posts, pages, products and other public post types, only when Rank Math is active. * Registers the same Rank Math fields for category and brand pages (for example WooCommerce product categories and brands), only when Rank Math is active. * Registers the Yoast SEO title, description and focus keyword fields in the REST API for posts, pages, products and other public post types, only when Yoast SEO is active. * Nothing else: no settings screen, no data collection, no external requests. Security: WordPress itself enforces all permissions. The fields can only be written by authenticated users who can already edit that specific item, exactly as if they edited it in the admin. Values are sanitized as plain text before they are stored. ### External services This plugin itself makes no requests to any external service, collects no data and sends nothing anywhere. It is built for use with SEOptimate (https://seoptimate.com), a paid SEO and GEO content platform. SEOptimate writes to your site through the standard WordPress REST API, using an application password that you create in your own WordPress profile and can revoke at any time. Install and activate the plugin. 2. That is all. Your existing SEOptimate connection (application password) now applies approved titles and descriptions directly. ## FAQ ### Does this change anything on my site by itself? No. It only makes existing SEO fields writable through the standard WordPress API, for users who could already edit them. Changes only happen when you approve a proposal in SEOptimate. ### What if I have neither Rank Math nor Yoast? Then the plugin registers nothing. A separate SEO title and description require an SEO plugin; SEOptimate will tell you so honestly. ### Does it work for category and brand pages with Yoast SEO? No. Yoast SEO stores the SEO data of categories and brands in a single site option instead of on the term itself, and that option cannot be written through the REST API.
