## Description

**Sense Forms** is a WordPress form builder with built-in analytics. Capture traffic
source, UTM parameters, device, and visitor journey data with every form submission.

Every time someone submits a form, Sense Forms automatically captures:

   email
 * **UTM Parameters** — source, medium, campaign, term, and content
 * **Device Information** — desktop, tablet, or mobile, plus browser and OS
 * **Time to Submit** — how long they spent filling out the form
 * **Form Abandonment** — who started filling out your form but did not finish

#### Features

 * **Drag and Drop Form Builder** — create beautiful forms without code

#### Lite vs Pro

Everything described above is in the free plugin — unlimited forms and submissions,
all 19 field types, conditional logic, visitor tracking and the analytics dashboard,
every spam-protection layer, notification and confirmation emails with SMTP, privacy
tools, CSV export, bulk actions, and every integration. No form limits, no submission
limits, nothing held back.

[Sense Forms Pro](https://senseforms.com/) is planned as a separate add-on for multi-
step forms, multi-site agency sync, advanced export filters and priority support.
None of the functionality above depends on it.

### External Services

Sense Forms works fully self-contained by default. No data is sent anywhere unless
you switch on one of the optional services below, each of which requires you to
enter your own credentials.

**Google reCAPTCHA v3 (optional, off by default)**

If you select reCAPTCHA as your CAPTCHA provider, enter your own keys, and enable
the CAPTCHA on a form:

 * The reCAPTCHA script is loaded from google.com on pages containing that form.
 * On each submission, the visitor’s reCAPTCHA token and IP address are sent to
   https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api/siteverify to score the submission.
 * This happens only on submissions of forms where you enabled the CAPTCHA.

Google’s terms and privacy policy apply: [Terms](https://policies.google.com/terms)
| [Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy)

**Akismet (optional, off by default, requires the separate Akismet plugin)**

If the Akismet plugin is installed and configured with an API key, and you leave
the Akismet spam layer enabled in Sense Forms settings:

 * Submission content, the submitter’s name and email where present, their IP address,
user agent and referring URL are sent to Akismet’s service to be classified as
   spam or not spam.
 * The request is made by the Akismet plugin itself using your own Akismet account.
 * If Akismet is not installed or has no key, this layer stays inactive and nothing
   is sent.

Automattic’s terms and privacy policy apply: [Terms of Service](https://automattic.com/terms/)
| [Privacy Policy](https://automattic.com/privacy/)

If you use none of the above, Sense Forms makes no external requests at all.

## FAQ

### Do I need other tracking plugins?

No. Sense Forms includes its own lightweight tracking script.

### Will this slow down my site?

The tracking script is around 15KB and loads in the page footer, so it never blocks
rendering. It talks only to your own site — the tracking layer makes no third-party
requests.

### Does it work with page builders?

Yes. Sense Forms includes native integrations for **Gutenberg** (block editor) and**
Elementor** (dedicated widget). For Beaver Builder, Divi, WPBakery, and other builders,
use the shortcode [senseform id=”1″] in any HTML or text module.

### Does Sense Forms help with GDPR?

It gives you the tools, but compliance depends on how you use them and on your own
disclosures and lawful basis — no plugin can make a site compliant on its own.

What Sense Forms provides: a GDPR consent field, IP anonymisation, Do Not Track
support, a cookie-free tracking mode, automatic data-retention cleanup, a notification-
only mode that stores nothing in the database, and integration with WordPress’s
built-in personal data export and erasure requests. By default all submission and
visitor data stays in your own database; the only exceptions are the optional Akismet
and reCAPTCHA integrations, which are off by default and described under External
Services below.

### My notification emails are not arriving. What should I do?

By default Sense Forms sends through WordPress’s built-in mail function, which works
out of the box on hosts with working mail — a new form arrives with an admin notification
already set up, addressed to your site’s admin email. If your host blocks PHP mail
or filters it as spam, go to **Sense Forms Settings Email Delivery (SMTP)** and
enter your SMTP details (host, port, username, password) from your email host, Gmail,
Brevo, SendGrid, Amazon SES, or any provider, then use the **Send Test** button
to verify delivery. By default SMTP applies only to Sense Forms emails; you can
optionally route all WordPress email through it, and if you already run a dedicated
SMTP plugin you can leave this off — they work together fine. Submissions are always
saved regardless, so nothing is ever lost, and the dashboard warns you if a notification
could not be delivered.

### Will I lose my data if I uninstall the plugin?

No. By default, all forms, entries, and analytics are preserved when you uninstall,
so nothing is lost if you reinstall later. If you want a complete cleanup, enable“
Remove ALL data when the plugin is uninstalled” in Settings before deleting the
plugin.

Finally a contact form plugin which has analytics and smtp included, my developer
friend recommended it to me and I absolutely loved it. I built a contact form in
five minutes without knowing any code. The drag-and-drop feature is great!
