Selective Posts

Display posts with category exclusions; select number of posts, post status, and post order.

  1. Upload and install the Selective Posts Plugin zip file in the Plugins Menu (Plugins > Add New > Upload)
  2. Activate the plugin
  3. Drag the Selective Posts Widget from the Available Widgets area into the Sidebar (Appearance > Widgets)
  4. Declare a Title, Maximum number of Posts to display, and Category IDs the exclude; Save
  5. Define type of posts; see list here http://codex.wordpress.org/Post_Status_Transitions
  6. Define order of posts; ASC (ascending) or DESC (descending)
  7. To exclude multiple categories from being displayed, separate Category IDs with a comma (-1,-2,-3)
