What is the cookie policy URL in Consent banner settings?

This URL will appear on the consent banner message so that website visitors can go and read the cookie policy. Providing comprehensive information about cookies is necessary to obtain informed consent.

What is consent mode and which one to choose?

Consent can be implicit or explicit. Implicit consent means the continual use of the website is considered as consent on the part of visitors. Explicit consent means the visitor is required to give consent with clear affirmative action i.e. by clicking a button on the consent banner, agreeing or disagreeing with the information presented. The choice of consent mode depends on which jurisdiction your website visitors are coming from.

What is the difference between specific and generalised consent?

Generalised consent only presents two options to the website visitors, i.e. Agree or disagree. Upon agreeing, all cookies are accepted on the part of the visitors, and upon disagreeing, all cookies except strictly necessary cookies are rejected.
Specific consent presents checkbox options for all four categories of cookies, i.e. strictly necessary cookies, functional cookies, marketing cookies, and third-party cookies. You can pre-tick certain categories of cookies from the “consent mode” tab. However, pre-ticking is not advisable for visitors from EU jurisdiction.
After selection, the visitors save their preferences from “Save” or “Ok” button.
Note: GDPR requires that granular consent options be presented to the visitors. Moreover, pre-ticked default checkboxes are not allowed in EU jurisdiction and consent obtained in this manner is deemed invalid.

What is checkbox default mode?

A checkbox default mode is an option in “Specific” consent mode. It allows you to pre-tick or unchecks certain categories of cookies on the consent banner. The purpose of this option is to set up different consent modes for visitors from different jurisdictions. For example, the EU requires the publishers to uncheck all the consent options.

Go to “Body text” tab
English is set as the default body text language. You can click on the “+” sign to add a body text and set its language from the dropdown options.

What is Consent Agreement Expiry Duration?

Consent agreement expiry duration means the number of days after which the consent agreement expires and the visitor is presented again with the consent request. The default is set as 30 days.
Note: visitors can also withdraw their consent or change their preferences by one of the following two ways:
Clicking on the Badge on the bottom-left corner of the website
Going to the cookie policy page, in which these two options are presented

What is prior consent and how do we implement it?

Prior consent is the requirement of GDPR and ePrivacy Regulation. Prior consent mechanism blocks all except strictly necessary cookies from being stored on the end user’s terminal equipment until they give consent.
You can implement prior consent by going to the “Dialogue” section and jumping to “Consent mode”.
