All Free features run on your WordPress site and no API key is required. Open Scientific AI > Image SEO. ## FAQ ### Is the Free plugin an automatic ALT text generator? No. The Free plugin is an audit-and-repair workflow. It finds missing ALT text, measures coverage, lets editors update ALT text from one dashboard, and offers local filename-derived suggestions. It does not automatically analyse images with AI. ### Does the Free version require an OpenAI API key? No. The Free version works without an API key and does not contact an external AI service. ### Does the Free version require a licence key? No. A licence is only required for Pro features. ### What is the Image Usage & Context Audit? It is a local, on-demand audit that checks the images displayed on the current dashboard page. It shows where each image is used in WordPress content and flags missing ALT text, filename-like ALT text, duplicate ALT text, and images reused across multiple contexts for manual review. ### Does the audit send my content to an external service? No. The Free usage/context audit runs locally against your WordPress database and does not use an AI API. ### Does it change image files? The Free version does not rename or replace image files. It lets you review and edit WordPress image ALT text. ### Can I use it with WooCommerce? The Free dashboard can see normal Media Library image attachments.
