## Description

**RxCompliant for WooCommerce** is a **connector plugin**: it integrates your WooCommerce
store with **RxCompliant**, a commercial software-as-a-service (SaaS) hosted at **
https://rxcompliant.com** and operated by **Seztech Inc.** (https://seztech.com).
Prescription files and related order/product data are sent to RxCompliant over HTTPS
for processing; verification, storage, and dashboards are provided by that external
service, not by this plugin alone.

**RxCompliant for WooCommerce** adds prescription upload verification to any product
in your WooCommerce store. When a customer tries to buy a product that requires 
a prescription (CPAP machines, oxygen concentrators, wheelchairs, compression stockings,
etc.), they must upload a valid prescription document before they can add it to 
their cart.

#### How It Works

 1. **Install & Connect** – Install the plugin, enter your API key from rxcompliant.
    com
 2. **Tag Products** – Check “Requires Prescription” on any product in the product 
    editor
 3. **Customer Uploads** – A drag-and-drop upload widget appears on the product page
 4. **AI Verifies** – RxCompliant’s AI analyzes the prescription in under 30 seconds
 5. **NPI Verification** – The prescribing doctor’s NPI number is checked against the
    federal registry
 6. **Review & Approve** – View all prescriptions in WP Admin and approve/reject with
    one click

#### What Gets Verified

 * Doctor/provider letterhead present
 * Valid signature on the prescription
 * NPI number lookup against federal registry (npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov)
 * Provider is authorized to prescribe (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.)
 * Prescription date (not expired – within 12 months)
 * Patient name and prescribed item extracted

#### Privacy

Prescription files are uploaded to RxCompliant’s secure servers for AI analysis.
Files are stored in encrypted cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) and are never publicly
accessible. RxCompliant does not share prescription data with third parties. See

### External services

This plugin **requires** an active connection to **RxCompliant** (API base: `https://
rxcompliant.com/api` and `https://rxcompliant.com/api/wc` for WooCommerce-specific
endpoints).

 * **What is sent:** Prescription uploads (e.g. PDF, JPG, PNG), product identifiers,
   store URL, and optional customer email/name when available—only as needed to 
   verify the prescription and link it to the order.
 * **When:** Data is transmitted when a shopper uploads a prescription, when staff
   use the in-admin dashboards (Prescriptions, Reports), and when the store validates
   cart/checkout state.
 * **Who:** Data is processed and stored by **Seztech Inc.** on RxCompliant infrastructure(
   see [Privacy Policy](https://rxcompliant.com/privacy) and [Terms of Service](https://rxcompliant.com/terms)).
 * **Account:** Merchants need a free or paid RxCompliant account and an API key
   from rxcompliant.com; the plugin cannot verify prescriptions without it.

If you do not agree to use this external service, do not install or activate this
plugin.

## Installation

 1. Go to **Plugins > Add New** in your WordPress admin
 2. Search for “RxCompliant”
 3. Click **Install Now** then **Activate**
 4. Go to **WooCommerce > Settings > RxCompliant** tab
 5. Create a free account at [rxcompliant.com](https://rxcompliant.com/signup) and 
    copy your API key
 6. Paste the API key and click **Save changes**
 7. Edit any product and check **“Requires Prescription”** under Product data

#### Manual Installation

 1. Download the plugin ZIP file
 2. Go to **Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin**
 3. Upload the ZIP file and click **Install Now**
 4. Activate the plugin
 5. Follow steps 4-7 above

## FAQ

### Does this plugin rely on an external service?

**Yes.** This plugin only works as a bridge to **RxCompliant** (rxcompliant.com),
a hosted SaaS product. All AI analysis, NPI lookups, file storage, and prescription
records are handled on Seztech’s servers, not on your WordPress host.

### Do I need a paid plan?

No. The free plan includes 25 prescription verifications per month. You only need
to upgrade if you process more than that.

### What file types are accepted?

JPG, PNG, and PDF files up to 10 MB.

### Does this modify my products?

No. RxCompliant only adds a meta field (“Requires Prescription”) to your products.
It does not modify product titles, descriptions, or prices.

### What happens if the AI can’t verify a prescription?

The prescription is submitted to your Prescriptions dashboard for manual review.
You can approve or reject it from there.

### Do I need a secret key or webhook secret?

No. Only the API key is required. Webhook configuration is optional and only needed
for advanced setups.

### Is this HIPAA compliant?

RxCompliant is designed with healthcare data security in mind. Prescription files
are encrypted at rest and in transit, stored in private cloud buckets, and accessed
only via time-limited pre-signed URLs. However, HIPAA compliance depends on your
overall infrastructure. Contact us for a BAA if needed.
