## Description

rMG – Image Optimizer helps WordPress sites feel faster by turning oversized page
images into lighter, visitor-ready versions while keeping your original Media Library
uploads safe.

Built for business sites, blogs, landing pages, portfolios, and client projects,
rMG gives you a practical way to improve image performance without rebuilding pages
or managing every image by hand.

Key benefits include:

 * Faster-feeling pages: Reduce unnecessary image weight so visitors can load content
   with less waiting.
 * Original uploads stay safe: Keep your source images untouched in the WordPress
   Media Library.
 * Visitor-ready image sizes: Deliver lighter versions for desktop, tablet, and
   mobile experiences.
 * Modern image formats: Choose WebP or AVIF to balance quality, compatibility,
   and file size.
 * Visual polish controls: Tune image quality, sharpness, lazy loading, and smooth
   fade-in behavior.
 * Page-level flexibility: Reoptimize edited pages, review savings, or leave specific
   pages untouched.
 * Simple media cleanup: Review generated optimized images and remove them when
   you no longer need them.

rMG is especially useful when you want:

 * A lighter site without replacing your existing media library.
 * A cleaner workflow after publishing or updating important pages.
 * Better image performance for mobile visitors.
 * Easy visibility into how much image weight has been saved.

### External Services

This plugin connects to the hosted ProxSEO rMG image optimization service when an
administrator starts site optimization, requests page optimization, or runs queued
background optimization.

The service receives the site URL, plugin version, WordPress version, site name,
selected published page URLs or page IDs, viewport names, and image/page metadata
needed to return optimization results. The service may request the site’s public
pages to analyze published content the way visitors see it.

## FAQ

### Will rMG change my original images?

No. Your original Media Library uploads stay in place, so you can keep working normally
and remove optimized copies later if needed.

### Does this replace original uploads?

No. rMG creates separate optimized versions for delivery while preserving your source
files. If an optimized version is not available, WordPress can still use the original
image.

### Which image formats can I use?

You can choose WebP or AVIF, two modern formats designed to reduce file size while
keeping images looking sharp. If an optimized image is not available, visitors still
receive the original image.

### Can I remove optimized images later?

Yes. You can review generated images in the optimized media library and delete them
when you no longer need them.

### Does this plugin use a third-party service?

Yes. rMG uses the ProxSEO rMG image optimization service when optimization runs.
See the External Services section for the full disclosure.
