RevuKit’s 15 widgets are designed by product designers to look like part of a well-made website, from a quiet rating badge to a full review wall. #### What makes RevuKit different * **Designed, not generic.** Each design has its own layout, typography and motion: carousels, masonry walls, spotlight cards, animated counters. They are built to sit comfortably on a modern, carefully designed site. * **Made to match your site.** Choose a theme, or set your own colours, corners and shadow, and every design follows. * **See it with your own reviews first.** Search for your business and every design previews with your real rating and reviews. No account, API key or setup needed to try it. * **Looks right wherever you put it.** Widgets fit the space they’re placed in ( sidebar, column or full width), not just the screen size. * **You choose which reviews show.** On paid plans, reorder, pin and hide reviews once, and every widget for that business follows. The Insight design adds an AI summary of what customers say. * **Light and self-contained.** Each widget is one small script that ships with the plugin, loads only on pages that use it and sets no cookies. No Google API key: RevuKit keeps your reviews up to date, and your WordPress server never contacts Google. * **Floating widgets without shortcodes.** Pin a compact badge to any corner, set its distance from the edges, choose whether it shows on phones, and show it on every page. #### How it works 1. Search for your business by name or address, or preview every design with a sample business first. 2. Pick a design and choose a theme, or your own colours, corners and shadow. 3. For compact designs, float the widget in a corner of the screen or place it inside your content. 4. Connect a free RevuKit account and create the widget. 5. Paste its shortcode where it should appear, or show a floating widget on every page automatically. 6. Find every widget and its shortcode under Your widgets, and reorder, pin or hide reviews under Manage reviews (paid plans). #### Designs * Interactive: Horizon, Chorus, Signal, Masonry, Insight, Foundation, Showcase, Transformer, Gallery and Anthology. * Compact: Pulse, Counter, Classic, Spotlight and Capsule. Every design works on every RevuKit plan. Paid plans show more of your reviews, allow more monthly views and more businesses, and add the AI summary in Insight. #### Placing a widget Every widget has a shortcode like `[revukit id="wi_…"]`. In the block editor, add a Shortcode block and paste it there. In Elementor, Divi or the Classic Editor, use their Shortcode element or paste it into the text. #### Source code The plugin’s scripts are built from the TypeScript source that ships with it: `src/` for the admin screen, and `source/` for the widget scripts and the code shared with RevuKit. `source/README.txt` explains how each is built. ### External services This plugin connects to the services below. Nothing is sent until you use the RevuKit screen in wp-admin or add a widget to a page, and your WordPress server never contacts Google. #### RevuKit RevuKit (https://www.revukit.com) provides the widgets, the review data and the account connection. * In wp-admin, when you type in the business search: your search text is sent to revukit.com, which returns matching businesses. When you choose one, its Google place ID and your site’s domain are sent to load its name, rating and reviews. * In wp-admin, when you preview the Insight design with your business: its Google place ID and your site’s domain are sent to revukit.com, which returns an AI summary of its reviews. * When you connect your RevuKit account: your site’s address and name and your WordPress and plugin versions are sent to revukit.com, and you approve the connection on revukit.com. * While connected, each time you open the RevuKit screen in wp-admin: your site asks revukit.com for your account’s email address and plan, so a plan change made on revukit.com shows without reconnecting. * When you create a widget: its design, business, colours, style and placement are sent to revukit.com. * While connected, when the RevuKit screen opens: your site asks revukit.com for its list of widgets (design, business, placement and date), for the Your widgets and Manage reviews tabs. * On paid plans, when you choose Download reviews while adding a widget: the business’s Google place ID and the chosen design are sent to revukit.com, which prepares the business’s reviews for your account. While it runs, your site asks revukit. com every few seconds whether it has finished. * On paid plans, when you open Reorder: the business’s Google place ID is sent to revukit.com, which returns its reviews and your saved order. When you save, the order and the reviews you pinned or hid are sent to revukit.com and apply to every widget for that business. * On your public pages, for each widget: the widget’s script comes from this plugin, and the visitor’s browser sends the widget ID, your site’s domain and the browser’s user agent to RevuKit’s API (cdn.revukit.com), which also receives the visitor’s IP address as part of the request. It returns the reviews and counts the view against your RevuKit plan. To load faster on the next visit, the widget keeps a copy of the reviews and its settings in the visitor’s browser (local storage, keys starting with `revukit`); it sets no cookies. If this site has no saved copy of a widget’s settings (for example after reinstalling the plugin), your WordPress server fetches them from revukit.com once, using the connection. * When you delete the plugin while connected: your site asks revukit.com to end its connection, so the connection’s access key stops working. Your widgets stay in your RevuKit account. Reviewer profile photos are loaded from Google’s servers (googleusercontent.com): by the visitor’s browser on your pages, and by your browser when wp-admin previews your business’s reviews. Google receives the usual request details, such as the IP address. Links in the widgets, such as Write a review, open Google Maps in the visitor’s browser only when clicked. The widgets add no credit or link to RevuKit on your site. ## Installation 1. Install and activate the plugin. 2. Open **RevuKit** in the WordPress admin menu. 3. Search for your business, pick a design and choose **Add this widget**. You’ll be asked to connect or create a free RevuKit account. ## FAQ ### Do I need a RevuKit account? Yes, to add a widget. You can preview every design without one. ### How do I switch to another RevuKit account? Deactivate the plugin, reactivate it and connect again. Widgets you already placed come back as soon as the plugin is active again; nothing needs recreating. ### What happens to my widgets if I deactivate or delete the plugin? They stop showing until the plugin is active again. Deactivating keeps their settings, so they come back as soon as you reactivate it. Deleting the plugin removes its settings from WordPress, but your widgets stay in your RevuKit account. Reinstall it and connect the same RevuKit account, and the widgets whose shortcodes are still on your pages show again. Floating widgets you had set to show on every page need adding again. Your RevuKit account and plan are unaffected either way. ### Where do I manage billing, my plan or which reviews show? Billing and your plan are in your RevuKit account at https://www.revukit.com/account; the plugin’s account menu links there. On paid plans you can reorder, pin and hide reviews while adding a widget, or in Manage Reviews on revukit.com.
