It checks your site, shows what people search for in Google Search Console and writes articles from your Search Console data that arrive in WordPress as drafts. WordPress itself has no fields for an SEO title or meta description, and every SEO plugin stores them in its own way. This plugin gives the RankLantern app one safe place to send them. It does three things: * **SEO fields.** Writes the SEO title, meta description and focus keyword into the SEO plugin you already use: Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO or SEOPress. * **Structured data.** Stores extra JSON-LD blocks (for example FAQPage or Event) per post or page and prints them in the page head. Your page content is not changed. * **Page builder check.** Tells the app whether a post was opened in Elementor, so the app never puts such a post live by itself. What it does not do: * It makes no outgoing connections and loads no scripts, styles or tracking. * It adds no settings screen and no options. * It never publishes anything. Drafts stay drafts until you publish them yourself, in WordPress or with an explicit click in the app. Everything goes through the WordPress REST API with an Application Password that you create for the app. Only users who may edit a post can change its fields. ### External services This plugin itself does not connect to any external service. It receives data from the RankLantern app (https://app.ranklantern.com), a service run by RankLantern. When you connect your site in the RankLantern app, you give the app a WordPress Application Password. The app then uses the WordPress REST API of your site to: * create and update drafts of posts and pages (title, content, address, excerpt, category, featured image and alt text), when you or the Autopilot in the app create an article or when you send changes; * upload images to the media library and create categories for those drafts; * save suggested changes to an existing page as an autosave revision, which you can review in the editor (it is never published by the app); * publish a draft, take it back to draft or move it to the trash, only after you click and confirm that in the app; * write the SEO title, meta description and focus keyword of a post or page, through this plugin, when you save them in the app; * store structured data (JSON-LD) for a post or page, through this plugin, when you add or change it in the app; * read the status of posts and pages and whether they were opened in Elementor, to show their state in the app. The app connects to your site only while it is connected and only for these actions. In WordPress, go to Plugins, Add New and search for “RankLantern Connector”, or upload the zip under Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin. 2. Activate the plugin. 3. Go to Users, Profile and create an Application Password for RankLantern. 4. In the RankLantern app, open your site’s settings, choose WordPress and enter your site address, username and the Application Password. If you used the older RankLantern Connector (version 1.2 or earlier), deactivate and delete it first. Your existing structured data is kept: both versions use the same data. ## FAQ ### Do I need a RankLantern account? Yes. On its own the plugin does nothing visible: it only accepts data from the RankLantern app, through the REST API, from a logged-in user. ### Which SEO plugins are supported? Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO and SEOPress. If none is active, the SEO title and description are ignored and the structured data still works. ### Does the plugin publish posts? No. The app creates drafts. A draft only goes live when you publish it in WordPress or confirm it in the app. ### What happens when I delete the plugin? The structured data the plugin stored is removed. SEO titles and descriptions stay, because they belong to your SEO plugin. If the old plugin file is still installed, nothing is removed. ### Does it work as a must-use plugin? Yes.
