## Description

ProEventsWP is a free WordPress event calendar plugin built for the block editor.
Create events, organize venues and organizers, and display your calendar in six
views. Use WordPress blocks to design event feeds and choose which event details
to show.

Free features include:

 * Display events in Month, Week, Day, List, Photo or Map view.
 * Create one-time, all-day and multi-day events, with event timezones and daily
   opening hours.
 * Repeat events daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Set exceptions and edit individual
   occurrences or a series.
 * Design event feeds with WordPress Query Loop patterns, editable event cards and
   pagination.
 * Help visitors find events with keyword, date, category, tag, venue and organizer
   filters.
 * Add venues, organizers, categories, tags, event status, costs and website links.
 * Collect individual RSVPs, set capacity limits, send confirmations and let attendees
   cancel. Keep attendee details private.
 * Show event locations on maps, enter addresses manually or enable optional address
   lookup.
 * Import CSV and ICS files as event drafts for review.
 * Let visitors download events or add them to their calendars. Include structured
event data and access events through a public read-only REST API.

All Free features work without a paid license. Your events and settings stay in
your WordPress database when you deactivate or uninstall the plugin.

### External services and privacy

#### Freemius

The bundled Freemius SDK provides optional licensing, account, checkout, and update
services. Its opt-in screen explains the data shared before optional usage tracking
is enabled. Basic Free functionality works without opting in or purchasing a license.
Freemius handles paid downloads, subscriptions, and license management.

#### Maps and map tiles

Map scripts are bundled locally. When a visitor opens a map, their browser requests
tiles or styles from the configured provider, disclosing normal request information
such as their IP address. The default map uses OpenStreetMap tiles. Administrators
can configure another provider; its terms and privacy policy apply. Maps display
attribution. Address text and external map links remain available when JavaScript
or WebGL2 is unavailable.

#### Optional Geoapify address lookup

Address lookup is disabled by default and needs an administrator-configured Geoapify
key. After three typed characters, it sends the editor’s address query to api.geoapify.
com to suggest locations. Manual entry works without it. No geocoding request is
made merely by saving an event or viewing its page.

## Installation

 1. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin, search for ProEventsWP, then install
    and activate it.
 2. Go to Events and create your first event. Add dates, times and other details, plus
a venue or organizer if needed.
 3. Edit a page and insert a Month, Week, Day, List, Photo or Map block. You can also
use an Event Query pattern to build an event feed.
 4. Use event detail blocks, such as Event Date & Time, Event Venue and Event Schedule,
to control how event information appears.

With a block theme, use Appearance > Editor to customize the supplied event, venue,
organizer and series templates. Templates you have already customized remain in
place. Shortcodes such as `[pcwp_calendar]` are also available.

## FAQ

### Can I use my existing theme?

Yes. Use the blocks and shortcodes with your theme. A block theme also lets you
design event templates in the Site Editor.

### Can I create recurring events?

Yes. Free includes daily, weekly, monthly and yearly recurrence, with exceptions.
You can edit an individual occurrence or a series.

### Can one multi-day event have different hours each day?

Yes. Choose Daily schedule in Event details, enter hours for each date, and mark
closed dates. Use the Event Schedule block to display the hours. Daily schedules
are available for standalone events.

### What does RSVP registration include?

Visitors can register for an event, receive a confirmation and cancel their registration.
You can set a capacity limit and manage attendees privately. Each registration reserves
one place; payment processing and ticket sales are not included.

### Do I need an external service for basic event management?

No. Events, schedules, feeds, filters, imports and calendar downloads work locally.
Maps and optional address lookup use the external services described below.

### Does uninstalling delete my events?

No. Your events, settings and plugin tables are kept to prevent accidental data
loss.
