### 󠀁[Forced to grant a bunch of permissions or bug?](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/forced-to-grant-a-bunch-of-permissions-or-bug/)󠁿

 [Mevo](https://profiles.wordpress.org/mevo/) January 6, 2021

According to the description and the screenshots, the plugin seems great. So, I
installed it to test it out. But as soon as I try to access it on my admin page,
I am nicely asked to “opt-in” to give some permissions, including name, email, URL,
plugins installed, and other informations. There is a “skip” button. The problem
is that the skip button doesn’t skip anything. It just loops back to the same opt-
in request. Is this “opt-in” mandatory to use the plugin or is this a bug? (maybe
even on my end?) I will update the review and note if it was only a bug, but for
now, I find this a bit aggressive and invasive. I just would like to be able to
test the plugin. EDIT: When wanting to deactivate the plugin, one option in the
feedback request is “I don’t like to share my information with you”, and you’re
shown when selecting it: “You might have missed it, but you don’t have to share
any data and can just skip the opt-in. Click here to use the plugin anonymously”.
It sends you back to the same window with the skip button seemingly not working.
But it would imply it is indeed a bug (I didn’t try to click on “accept” to see
if that works)
