It is designed primarily for physiotherapy, occupational therapy, alternative practitioners, and other healthcare practices, but it can also be used by other service providers that need customers or clients to request appointments online. The free version works independently. It does not require an external service account, a license key, or a connection to the developer’s licensing infrastructure. #### Free version features * Monthly calendar with available days and appointment times. * Configurable services and appointment durations with a structured service editor. * Configurable base slot length. * Opening hours for each weekday with separate from/to fields. * Email verification before an appointment request is reserved. * Manual approval or rejection by an administrator. * Cancellation link with an additional confirmation step. * Manual blocking and unblocking of individual time slots in the WordPress admin area. * Block-time overview that distinguishes manually blocked slots from online bookings. * Optional display of the booked customer’s name in the administrative block-time view. * Customizable introductory text above the booking calendar. * Configurable booking window and minimum advance notice. * Optional, required, or disabled date-of-birth field. * Privacy-policy checkbox with a configurable link. * Integration with the WordPress privacy-policy guide, personal-data exporter, and personal-data eraser. * Customizable colors, border radii, and form width. * Notification emails sent through the WordPress mail system. * Basic protection against automated booking requests. PraxisBooking stores booking data in the local WordPress database. The free version does not contact Uebeweb or another external licensing or booking service during normal operation. ### Privacy Depending on configuration, PraxisBooking processes personal data such as first name, last name, email address, phone number, date of birth, appointment details, and optional notes. This information is stored in the local WordPress database and is used to process appointment requests and related email communication. To reduce simple automated mass requests, PraxisBooking uses a short-lived rate limit. A non-reversible check value derived from the IP address and submitted email address is stored as a WordPress transient for approximately 15 minutes. The free version does not send data to Uebeweb for license or feature checks. Actual email delivery may use an external mail provider if the site administrator has configured WordPress or an SMTP plugin to use such a provider. PraxisBooking adds suggested privacy-policy text to the WordPress privacy-policy guide. Booking records are also integrated with the WordPress “Export Personal Data” and “Erase Personal Data” tools. Active or future bookings are intentionally not anonymized by an automatic erasure request so that ongoing appointments are not broken. Those records should be reviewed again after the appointment has passed or has been cancelled. The website operator is responsible for the legal basis for processing, privacy notices, access control, retention periods, and deletion procedures. The plugin does not provide legal advice or certify legal or regulatory compliance. ## Installation 1. Install the plugin through the WordPress plugin installer, or upload the `praxisbooking` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`. 2. Activate “PraxisBooking – Online Appointment Booking”. 3. Open “PraxisBooking > Settings” and configure services, opening hours, notification email address, and appearance. 4. Create a WordPress page and add the shortcode `[praxis_booking]`. 5. Run a complete test booking including email verification, administrator approval, and cancellation before using the plugin in production. ## FAQ ### Which shortcode should I use? Use `[praxis_booking]`. ### Are emails sent through an external service? No. PraxisBooking uses `wp_mail()` and therefore uses the mail delivery configured for your WordPress installation. If you use an SMTP plugin, its configuration is used. ### Does the free version require a license key? No. The WordPress.org version contains no license check. ### Can I use the plugin outside healthcare? Yes. Services, appointment durations, texts, opening hours, and appearance are configurable. The name “PraxisBooking” reflects the primary target audience but does not restrict the plugin to healthcare practices. ### Does the plugin delete booking data when it is deactivated or removed? No. Booking data is not removed automatically. This prevents accidental data loss.
