Visitors are sent to the chosen service only when they click a channel. Until then, no data is transferred to third parties. * Channels: WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Messenger, Instagram, phone, email, SMS– with prefilled messages and the placeholders {page_title} and {url} * Contact persons with photo, role, their own channel and their own availability( shown greyed out outside their hours) * Design: position, offsets, size, colors (text contrast is chosen automatically), icon, button shape, window corner radius, light/dark/system theme * Behaviour: delayed appearance, auto-open after time, scroll depth or exit intent, notification badge * Targeting: all pages, all except, only on (paths with * wildcards), devices, new or returning visitors * Schedule: weekdays and hours (also across midnight) in the site timezone; hide the button or show an offline note outside hours * Statistics: clicks per channel and day – anonymous, no cookies, no IP addresses * Shortcode [plauderknopf channel=”whatsapp” label=”…” message=”…”] for buttons inside content * Import from “Elfsight WhatsApp Chat CC” * Rendered in a Shadow DOM, so theme CSS cannot break it; keyboard accessible ( Esc, ARIA) The plugin is translation-ready. A click counter stores aggregated numbers per day and channel without personal data. In the visitor’s browser, localStorage/ sessionStorage remembers whether the popup was opened and whether this is the first visit. A suggested text for your privacy policy is added under Settings Privacy. ### External services Plauderknopf does not contact any external service on its own. It only creates links. Install the plugin via Plugins Add New, or upload the folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`. 2. Activate it. 3. Go to the new **Plauderknopf** menu, add at least one channel or contact person and save. ## FAQ ### Does it load anything from WhatsApp, Meta or other services? No. Icons, script and styles come from your own server. A visitor is forwarded to a service only after clicking a channel. ### Do I need the WhatsApp Business API? No. Plauderknopf uses the official click-to-chat links (wa.me, t.me, signal.me, m.me, ig.me). Conversations take place in the messenger app. ### Does it work with caching plugins? Yes. Device, visitor type and schedule are checked in the browser, so cached pages show the correct state. ### Can I style the button? Use the design settings.
