The site kept working for admin users, but for some reason ajax calls didn’t go through for anonymous visitors. I located the error down to this plugin. Deactivating it fixed the website. It took me hours of searching to figure it out. The plugin itself is very limited in the free tier and made me accidentally use all the 20 free plagiarism checks in a single article, as the UX is just terrible.
