It fills the gap they leave: they optimise your site for search engines, and say nothing about the AI assistants that now answer questions on top of that search. Everything PinMeOut reports is measured on your own server. There is no external service, no API key, no quota and no subscription required for any of it to work. Numbers that come from your own access log cannot be inflated, and they do not disappear when a vendor changes their terms. **AI crawler control** Nineteen crawlers, grouped by what they are actually for: search engines, AI answer engines, AI training crawlers, and fetchers triggered by a person asking about a link. Each one is listed with its operator and a plain description of what it does, so you can make a decision rather than guess. Blocking an AI crawler is presented as a legitimate business choice. Blocking a search engine is flagged as the serious thing it is. PinMeOut writes only inside its own marked block in robots.txt and never touches anything else in the file. It also warns you — prominently — if a real robots.txt file exists on disk, because when one does, WordPress never generates robots.txt and every rule you set here silently does nothing. **Crawler activity** Which crawlers really fetched pages, how often, how many 404s they hit, and when they last came. Plus the list of published pages that no crawler has read at all, which is usually the most useful thing on the screen. No IP addresses, no user-agent strings, no visitor data. One row per crawler fetch, kept for 30 days by default — choose up to a year on the Settings screen. **AI referrals** Visits that arrive from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Gemini and others: real people who read an answer that pointed at your site and clicked through. The count is a floor, not a total, and the plugin says so on the screen. Several assistants strip the referring address from the links they hand out, so some arrivals cannot be identified at all. A zero means “not yet measured”, not “not visible”. **Answer readiness** Scores each page on whether a passage can be lifted out of it and still make sense— which is what an assistant has to do to cite you. Is there a short answer near the top? Does the opening still mean anything quoted on its own? Are there sections, figures, lists? Each check names the specific fix. This is a set of heuristics and is described as one. It cannot promise a citation, and no plugin that claims otherwise can either. **llms.txt** Publishes a plain-text map of your site at /llms.txt: a title, a one-line summary, and the pages worth reading with a short description of each. A sitemap gives an assistant a list of addresses; this tells it which one to open. Descriptions are taken from the meta description your SEO plugin already manages, then the excerpt, then the opening of the content — so nothing has to be written twice. Pages marked noindex are left out. The file is generated on request and never written to disk, so removing the plugin removes the file with it. **Q&A markup** Structured data that marks up which paragraph answers which question, generated from headings you have already written. PinMeOut publishes this and nothing else. Article, Organization and breadcrumbs are your SEO plugin’s job. It also stands down per page when another plugin is already marking up questions there, and publishes nothing at all unless the page genuinely has the structure — at least two headings phrased as questions, each with a real answer underneath. **Link previews** On a site with no SEO plugin, a shared link arrives in WhatsApp, LinkedIn or X as a bare address. PinMeOut prints the meta description, Open Graph and Twitter card tags so it arrives with a title, a line of text and a picture: the featured image, an image your theme offers, or your site icon. Only where nothing else does it. With Rank Math, Yoast, All in One SEO, SEOPress or Jetpack installed, PinMeOut prints none of these tags, because two sets on one page make every app pick one at random. **PinMeOut Pro** Everything described above is in this plugin, in full, with no limits and no licence key. PinMeOut Pro is a separate add-on, sold at [pinmeout.com](https://pinmeout.com/pricing/), that adds more features rather than unlocking these ones: per-page breakdowns and CSV export, a weekly whole-site rescan with each page’s score history, llms-full. txt with your own sections and post types, choosing which questions each page publishes as Q&A markup, path rules for crawlers, email alerts and a weekly summary, and for agencies a client report under their own name. ### Privacy PinMeOut stores no personal data and makes no external requests except two self- checks: it fetches your own robots.txt and your own llms.txt over HTTP to confirm what your site actually serves. Upload the plugin through Plugins Add New Upload Plugin, or copy the `pinmeout` folder to `wp-content/plugins/`. 2. Activate it. 3. Open the PinMeOut menu. Crawler activity and AI referrals will read empty for several days. That is correct, not broken: crawlers visit on their own schedule and referrals are rare even on well-cited sites. ## FAQ ### Does this replace my SEO plugin? No, and it is built not to. It detects Rank Math, Yoast, All in One SEO and SEOPress, reuses the descriptions they already manage, and stays out of the structured data they already publish. ### Does it cost anything to run? No. Every measurement comes from your own server. There is no external API involved in any feature. ### Will blocking AI crawlers hurt my search rankings? Blocking an AI training crawler does not affect search. Google-Extended and Applebot- Extended in particular control training use only and have no effect on Google Search or Applebot. Blocking a search engine crawler does remove you from that search engine, and the plugin says so on the screen. ### Why do Google-Extended and Applebot-Extended never show any activity? They are robots.txt control tokens, not crawlers. They are honoured in robots.txt but never appear in a request, so they can be blocked and will correctly never show traffic. ### Does it track my visitors? No. No IP addresses, user-agent strings, cookies or sessions are stored. A crawler row records which crawler, which path and when. A referral row records which assistant, which page and when. Nothing identifies a person. ### What happens to my data if I deactivate or delete the plugin? Deactivating never deletes anything.
