## Description

Pi Podcast Feed – Cards & Playlist Player lets site administrators connect a public
podcast RSS feed and display episodes using responsive cards or a full playlist
audio player.

Features include:

 * Responsive podcast episode cards.
 * Searchable playlist audio player.
 * Play, pause, previous, next, rewind, forward, speed and progress controls.
 * Configurable episode counts and appearance settings.
 * RSS caching using WordPress transients.
 * Shortcodes for use in Gutenberg, Elementor and other shortcode areas.

### Shortcodes

[pipodcastfeed] – Responsive latest episode cards.
 [pipodcastfeed_player] – Full
playlist audio player.

### External services

This plugin retrieves podcast information from an external RSS feed configured by
the site administrator. The default feed is NPR’s Planet Money podcast feed:
 https://
feeds.npr.org/510289/podcast.xml

The RSS request is made by the WordPress server when the plugin needs to refresh
cached episode data or when an administrator tests the configured feed. A standard
HTTP request is sent to the RSS provider. This can include the server IP address,
request headers, and user agent that are normally part of an HTTP request. The plugin
does not intentionally send WordPress user account information or form data to the
RSS provider.

Episode artwork and audio files are provided by URLs contained in the selected RSS
feed. When a visitor views artwork or plays an episode, the visitor’s browser may
connect directly to the host serving that image or audio file. That host can receive
normal request information such as the visitor’s IP address, browser user agent,
and referrer according to that provider’s own policies.

If the site administrator replaces the default RSS URL with a feed from another
provider, the same type of requests will be made to that provider. Site administrators
are responsible for reviewing the terms and privacy policy of any RSS provider they
configure.
