statistics, bot detection heuristics, GEO analytics, and AEO evaluations are computed
locally inside your WordPress database without relying on mandatory external SaaS
processing.
In full compliance with WordPress.org guidelines, the following external interactions
and user-initiated services are disclosed:
1. **Forward-Confirmed Reverse DNS (FCrDNS) Verification**
* **What the service is and what it is used for**: Standard DNS PTR and A record
lookups used to verify whether incoming crawlers claiming to be legitimate search
bots (e.g. OpenAI GPTBot, Anthropic ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, Bingbot) are authentic
or malicious impersonators.
* **What data is sent and when**: When a request claims
a verified bot User-Agent, an asynchronous DNS lookup (`gethostbyaddr` / `gethostbynamel`)
is executed through the web server’s system DNS resolver. Only the crawler’s IP
address and verified hostname are processed; no visitor personal data or site content
is sent. * **Terms and Privacy**: Governed by the server’s local network/DNS provider
policies.
1. **User-Initiated AI Search Verification Links (Brand Prompt Hub & SERP Simulator)**
* **What the service is and what it is used for**: Shortcut links in the admin interface

* **What data is sent and when**: Only when an administrator explicitly
clicks a test button in the admin dashboard, the browser opens a new tab navigating

* OwlyCrackGeo does not connect to any remote telemetry, phone-home, or data collection
servers. All analytics and diagnostic logs remain exclusively on your local server.
## Installation
1. Upload the plugin files to the `/wp-content/plugins/owlycrackgeo` directory, or
install the plugin directly through the WordPress plugins screen.
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
3. Use the **OwlyCrackGeo** menu in the admin sidebar to view real-time AI crawler
statistics, analyze referral traffic, and manage your robots.txt firewall rules.
## FAQ
### Does OwlyCrackGeo affect my site’s frontend loading speed?
No. OwlyCrackGeo operates with minimal overhead (less than 1ms per request) during
request processing. Visitor and crawler tracking is handled purely server-side with
zero visible HTML rendering and zero external client-side scripts, ensuring maximum
frontend performance.
### How does OwlyCrackGeo distinguish real AI bots from malicious impostors?
OwlyCrackGeo integrates two-layer verification: User-Agent pattern matching followed
by asynchronous Forward-Confirmed reverse DNS (FCrDNS) lookup for major vendors (
such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Bing). Verified crawlers receive a verified
badge; impostors are flagged and can be blocked automatically.
### Can I block specific AI bots from scraping my site?
Yes. Simply navigate to **OwlyCrackGeo > Settings & Firewall**, check the bots you
wish to restrict, and save. Those bots will immediately receive a `403 Forbidden`
response.
