This useful plugin allows Cutenews users to transfer their Cutenews installation into WordPress, including categories, posts, and comments.

  1. Upload the plugin file (extwp.php) into your WordPress directory under /wp-content/plugins/

  2. Open your adminstration panel and go to Plugins and activate it by clicking Activate next to the description of Other-Ext-WP.

  3. Now you should see a link to Other-Ext-WP under your plugins sub-menu (next to Plugin-Editor for example). Go to Other-Ext-WP.

  4. Now just read the instructions. Options:

    A. Add Comments or Not - If you want to transfer comments as well. It will make the plugin take longer.

    B. Select Users - From the current WordPress users, which user should all the posts be authored to.

    C. Path - If the plugin can detect where Cutenews is it will show the path and a text box. You don't need to enter anything into the text box unless the plugin has the wrong path or you have an alternate installation. If it cannot detect the path, it will present an input box that you need to enter the path for. Remember "../" means up one directory.

  5. Click transfer and the process will begin. Depending on the number of posts and comments feature, it may take a while. Do not close until you get a confirmation message.

  6. When it is complete, delete the plugin from the server. If you have problems or need support, please contact me at my site.
