MusicNetics Artist Toolkit helps musicians, bands, producers, and artist teams turn
a WordPress site into a complete artist website.

Instead of managing music, shows, press links, photos, videos, and artist details
across scattered pages, the plugin gives you one organized WordPress dashboard built
specifically for music artists.

With MusicNetics Artist Toolkit, you can manage:

## Installation

 1. Upload the plugin files to the `/wp-content/plugins/musicnetics-artist-toolkit`
    directory, or install the plugin directly through the WordPress Plugins screen (**
    Plugins  Add New  Upload Plugin**).
 2. Activate the plugin through the **Plugins** screen in WordPress.
 3. Go to the new **MusicNetics** menu in your WordPress admin to fill in your Artist
    Profile and start adding Songs, Gigs, Merch, Photos, Videos, and Press items.
 4. Use the shortcodes listed above (also available under **MusicNetics  Shortcodes**)
    to display your content on any page or post.

## FAQ

### Does this plugin require a MusicNetics.com account?

No. MusicNetics Artist Toolkit works independently inside your WordPress site. You
do not need a MusicNetics.com account, subscription, API key, or external service
to use the plugin.

### Is this the same as the hosted MusicNetics platform?

No. This plugin is for artists who already use WordPress and want to manage artist
website content inside their own WordPress site.

MusicNetics.com is the fully hosted version for artists who do not want to manage
WordPress, hosting, updates, backups, or plugin conflicts.

### What can I manage with this plugin?

You can manage artist profile information, songs, releases, gigs, merch content,
photos, videos, press/EPK content, fan/contact information, and related artist website
sections from inside WordPress.

### Can I use this plugin to build an EPK?

Yes. MusicNetics Artist Toolkit includes EPK-related tools and shortcodes so artists
can display press-ready information on the frontend of their WordPress site.

### Will updating the plugin delete my artist content?

No. Plugin updates are designed to preserve your artist content.

### What happens if I delete the plugin?

The plugin is designed to preserve stored artist content instead of automatically
deleting your data on uninstall. This helps protect artists from accidental data
loss.

### Does the plugin include checkout or payment processing?

No. MusicNetics Artist Toolkit does not process payments or provide checkout functionality.

### Does the plugin host my audio files?

The plugin helps you manage and display music content in WordPress. Any uploaded
media is handled by your WordPress site and hosting environment, so your host’s 
upload limits, storage limits, and media settings still apply.

### Can I back up my MusicNetics content?

Yes. The plugin includes Backup & Restore tools to help export and protect your 
MusicNetics artist content separately from a full WordPress site backup.

managed content. Final appearance may depend on your theme, page builder, and site

### Does the plugin track visitors or require external tracking?

   renders by default. Added a new “Show ‘Powered by MusicNetics’ credit on public
   pages” checkbox under Settings  Branding, off by default; site owners can opt
   in if they want to display it. Admin-area MusicNetics links/cards are unchanged.
   No tracking or referral parameters are used, and no external scripts, images,
   or styles are loaded.
 * Fixed: added `ranknetics` to the Contributors list.
 * Fixed: replaced the plugin’s remaining direct `<script>`/`<style>` output with`
   wp_add_inline_script()`/`wp_add_inline_style()` on properly registered/enqueued
   handles (newsletter signup script, Photos list thumbnail-column CSS, accent-color
   CSS variables). No visual or behavioral change.
 * Fixed: renamed 3 remaining un-prefixed global functions to use the `musiarto_`
   prefix. No stored data (options, post types, meta, transients, ajax actions, 
   shortcodes) was renamed, to avoid breaking existing installs.
 * Fixed: moved the plugin’s top-level admin menu position from 25 to 58 to reduce
   the chance of colliding with other plugins’ admin menu items.

 * Fixed: removed the plugin header’s Author URI, which was identical to the Plugin

   headline, text, and button. All branding card elements now share the same left
   content edge.
 * Fixed: frontend dates and times now display in a US-friendly format (e.g. “July
   11, 2026”, “7:00 PM”) instead of raw database format or 24-hour time. Applies
   to Gigs and Press output. Storage, admin fields, and sorting are unchanged.
