## Description

MemberQube Lite helps site owners create a simple free-member experience without
requiring coding knowledge.

Lite includes permanent free functionality:

 * Front-end member registration.
 * Front-end login.
 * Simple member account dashboard.
 * A dedicated MemberQube Member role.
 * Whole-page/post content protection for MemberQube members and editors, with protected
   excerpts and standard REST responses.
 * A members-only shortcode for protecting part of a page.
 * Automatic Join, Member Login, Member Account, and MemberQube Plans pages.
 * Beginner-friendly setup guidance in WordPress admin.
 * Profile display-name editing.
 * Safe uninstall preference that never deletes WordPress user accounts automatically.

MemberQube Lite is intended to remain useful without a paid upgrade. Optional premium
add-ons may be offered separately outside WordPress.org for advanced functionality
such as additional membership levels, automations, analytics, reporting, or business
workflows. Premium code is not included in the Lite package.

The MemberQube Plans page is an informational comparison page. Site administrators
can optionally enter their own Pro and Business price labels and external details/
purchase URLs under MemberQube > Plans & Upgrades. If those fields are left blank,
the public page clearly says that pricing or details are coming soon and does not
force visitors to an external site.

MemberQube Lite does not track users, send telemetry, or require an external service
for its core functionality.

### Privacy

MemberQube Lite does not send telemetry or tracking data to an external service.
Registration data is stored using the standard WordPress user system on the site
where the plugin is installed.

If a site administrator chooses to configure an external Pro or Business details/
purchase URL, a visitor who intentionally clicks that link will leave the WordPress
site and visit the configured destination. MemberQube Lite does not automatically
transmit registration or membership data to that destination. Optional product and
Help links behave the same way.

## Installation

 1. Upload the plugin folder to `/wp-content/plugins/` or install the ZIP through
     Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
 2.  Activate MemberQube Lite.
 3. Open MemberQube in the WordPress admin area.
 4. Enable WordPress registration under Settings > General > Membership if you want
     visitors to create accounts.
 5. Add the automatically created Join, Member Login, and Member Account pages to
     your navigation.
 6. MemberQube members and site editors can view protected content. Other WordPress
     roles do not automatically receive MemberQube access.
 7. Edit a post or page and enable MemberQube Access > Members only to protect the
     entire content.
 8.  Or use `[memberqube_members_only]Private content[/memberqube_members_only]` to
     protect only part of a page.
 9. Open MemberQube > Plans & Upgrades to preview the optional public plans page and
     add Pro/Business price labels or links if desired.

## FAQ

### Is MemberQube Lite a trial?

No. Lite functionality does not expire and is not disabled after a quota or time
period.

### Does Lite require a paid service?

No. Core Lite features run on your WordPress site.

### Are Pro or Business features hidden inside Lite?

No. Paid editions are separate products. MemberQube Lite does not bundle paid functionality
and lock it behind a license key.

### Does the plans page force visitors to buy something?

No. It is an informational comparison page. If an administrator has not configured
a paid-plan URL, the paid-plan button is shown as unavailable instead of redirecting
the visitor.

### Can I change the paid plan prices or links?

Yes. Administrators can use MemberQube > Plans & Upgrades. The fields are optional
so you can publish accurate pricing only when it is finalized.

### Does the plugin delete users when removed?

No. WordPress user accounts are never automatically deleted. An optional setting
can remove MemberQube Lite plugin options and its custom role during uninstall.

### Can I protect only part of a page?

Yes. Wrap selected content in the `[memberqube_members_only]` shortcode.

### Can I protect an entire post or page?

Yes. Use the MemberQube Access box in the editor.
