Clear cover options and direct customer servicing through your store, subject to eligibility, policy terms, conditions, and exclusions. **Key features** * Enhance the customer proposition with relevant and optional POS insurance. * Generate commission on eligible policies sold. * Claim support connected to your jewellery store for repairs and replacement. * Available for UK based jewellers and UK customers. * 1-year or 3-year cover available, for loss, theft and accidental damage. * Available for jewellery up to £7,500 RRP and watches up to £2,500 RRP. * Automatic policy creation on order processing/completion * Admin screens for settings, API logs, and issued policies * WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) compatible This plugin requires an active WooCommerce installation and MarchGuard store credentials( Store ID and Store PIN) obtained from TH March. March Guard and the MarchGuard service are owned and operated by T.H. March & Co. Limited. The plugin was developed for TH March by Webcomp Digitex (https://webcompdigitex. com). ### External services This plugin connects to the MarchGuard insurance service, operated by T.H. March& Co. Limited, to provide insurance quotes and to create insurance policies. This connection is essential to the plugin’s core function — without it, insurance quotes cannot be retrieved and policies cannot be issued. **What the service is used for and when data is sent:** * **Requesting a quote** — when a customer views an eligible product, cart, or checkout, the plugin requests a premium quote. The following data is sent: item description, item value, product category, insurance term, and (for rating) a postcode placeholder. * **Finalising a quote / creating a policy** — when an order containing insurance is processed, the plugin submits the customer’s details to issue a policy. The following data is sent: customer title, first and last name, billing address, postcode, country, email address, and the order/invoice number, together with the insured item details. * **Retrieving policy certificates** — the plugin requests the policy certificate( PDF) for an issued policy using the policy reference number. Requests are sent to the following endpoints: * Staging: `https://stage.marchguard.com/public_services` * Production: `https://marchguard.com/public_services` The endpoint used depends on the “Environment” setting you select in the plugin settings. **Service provider, terms, and privacy:** * Service provider: T.H. March & Co. By using this plugin and enabling insurance, you agree that customer data required to provide a quote and issue a policy will be transmitted to the MarchGuard service as described above. You are responsible for disclosing this data sharing in your own store’s privacy policy. ### Privacy This plugin stores the following data in your WordPress database: * **API logs** (`{prefix}_thmarch_api_logs`) — records of requests to and responses from the MarchGuard service, used for troubleshooting. These may contain customer details submitted during policy creation. * **Policies** (`{prefix}_thmarch_policies`) — issued policy records including policy number, customer email and name, item value, premium, and coverage amount. Upload the `march-guard-pos-insurance` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress Plugins screen directly. 2. Ensure WooCommerce is installed and active. 3. Activate the plugin through the “Plugins” screen in WordPress. 4. Go to **TH March Insurance** in the admin menu and enter your MarchGuard **Store ID** and **Store PIN**. 5. Choose the **Environment** (Staging for testing, Production for live orders) and use **Test Connection** to verify your credentials. 6. Once valid credentials are saved, the insurance option appears automatically on eligible product pages and at checkout. ## FAQ ### Do I need a MarchGuard account? Yes. You need a Store ID and Store PIN issued by TH March. Contact the March Guard Team on 01822 669000 or email marchguard@thmarch.co.uk to obtain your credentials. ### Which customers can buy insurance? Insurance is available to UK residents only. The plugin enforces a UK-only restriction at checkout. ### Which products are eligible? Products at or above the minimum value (£50) that the MarchGuard service confirms as eligible. Ineligible items and insurance products themselves are excluded automatically. ### Does it work with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS)? Yes. The plugin declares compatibility with WooCommerce HPOS. ### Does it work with the WooCommerce cart and checkout blocks? No. The insurance widget is built on the classic WooCommerce cart and checkout templates, and the plugin declares itself incompatible with the cart/checkout blocks feature. Use the classic (shortcode) cart and checkout pages. ### What happens to my data if I uninstall the plugin? See the Privacy section above for the data the plugin stores. The button had two click handlers bound to it, one of them from an inline script; there is now a single handler. * Corrected the plugin author details to T.H. March & Co. Limited, the owner of the March Guard scheme. #### 1.0.4 * Added the insurance widget back to the checkout page, shown immediately above the “Your order” heading, so customers who skipped it on the product page get a second chance to add cover without going back. * The checkout widget keeps the same information modal, consent confirmation and 1 year / 3 year choice as the product page widget, with one term choice per eligible item in the basket. Selecting cover updates the order totals straight away. * Items already insured from the product page are listed as covered and cannot be insured twice. * Premiums chosen at checkout are recalculated on the server from the actual basket line, so the amount charged never depends on figures sent by the browser. * Fixed the insurance line shown under a basket item labelling the premium as “ per year”. The figure is the total premium for the whole term, so a 3 year policy read as if it cost three times what was actually charged. The amount charged was always correct; only the label was wrong. #### 1.0.3 * Moved the product page insurance widget’s JavaScript out of an inline tag into a properly enqueued file (assets/js/product-insurance.js). Some hosting/caching setups rewrite characters inside inline scripts as if they were page text, which could silently break the widget; loading it as a real asset avoids that. #### 1.0.2 * Moved insurance selection (term choice, consent, and policy documents) from the checkout page into the product page widget.
