Product search supports names, descriptions, short descriptions, SKU and categories, including normalization of accents. Posts use native WordPress search. Use [mmhps_search] or [mmhps_search scope=”all”]. The settings also support theme search inputs, a custom CSS selector, appearance, exclusions, manual background indexing and optional hourly, daily or weekly index rebuilds. A working WP-Cron is required for unattended indexing. Admin polling can also progress a build. The plugin requires WooCommerce and the PHP extensions pdo_sqlite, mbstring and iconv. The uploads/mmhps-index directory must be writable. Product variations do not have a separate SKU index. Product edits appear after the next index rebuild. A title search fallback remains available before the first build finishes. The optional, separately distributed MakeMeHappy Product Search Pro add-on requires this Free plugin. It adds typo tolerance, tags/brands/attributes, manual suggestions, animated placeholders, search analytics. Pro is available from https://makemehappy. sk/produkt/fastsearch-sqlite/ . The Free package does not include locked premium implementations or an external updater. ### Translations English is the source language. Slovak and Czech PO/MO translations are bundled in languages/ and work immediately after installation. WordPress.org language packs take precedence when available. An unrestricted POT template is included for custom translations with tools such as Loco Translate or Poedit. Custom translations do not require a Pro licence. User-entered placeholders, suggestions and catalogue content are preserved and are not translated automatically. ## Installation 1. Activate WooCommerce. 2. Install and activate MakeMeHappy Product Search. 3. Open MakeMeHappy Product Search, review settings and build the index. 4. Insert [mmhps_search] in a page or enable theme search integration. ## FAQ ### Is a licence required? No. Free works without a licence and has no expiry or product-count quota. ### Where is search data stored? Product index files are stored locally in uploads/mmhps-index. Free does not send search queries to an external service and does not collect search analytics. Configure your web server to prevent public downloading of index files; an Apache access file is included in the index directory when it can be created. ### Can I upgrade from 0.8.0? Deactivate the old FastSearch Free and Pro plugins first. Install this plugin and the compatible Pro 0.11.0 add-on if used. Existing preferences are copied once to the mmhps_ prefix without deleting the originals. Rebuild the search index in its separate directory. Replace [mfs_search] with [mmhps_search] in pages and widgets; Pro 0.11.0 also supports the old shortcode. Existing Pro licence data is retained.
