#### MailPoet Sending Service

**The MailPoet Sending Service is free if you only have a few subscribers, with
scaling plans available thereafter. [Read more.](https://www.mailpoet.com/pricing/)**

Sending emails and newsletters with your host is not a good idea. You might face
sending speed limitations and see your emails ending up in the spam box.

To help your sending go without a hitch, we’ve created an advanced email delivery
infrastructure built for WordPress. Our technology allows you to:

 * Reach inboxes, not spam boxes
 * Send your emails super fast (up to 50,000 emails per hour)
 * Maintain your sender reputation and improve engagement levels with automated
bounce and complaint handling. Stop sending to non-deliverable and complaining
   addresses, automatically
 * Authenticate your emails (with SPF and DKIM) to improve deliverability and avoid
   spam boxes.

The MailPoet Sending Service is very easy to set up, you just have to enter a key
in your WordPress dashboard and you’re all set!

#### MailPoet plans and pricing

MailPoet is available to download for free. Our free download includes all of the
features listed above (with the exception of those indicating a plan requirement)
under the following criteria:

 * MailPoet branding in emails
 * Send emails with your own sending method (host, SendGrid, Amazon SES, etc).

Or if you opt for a MailPoet plan, you’ll get access to the MailPoet Sending Service.

A free plan is available for those who want to get started with a few subscribers
and would like to use the MailPoet Sending Service. And our paid plans offer features
and functionality for those with larger lists who are looking to grow their business
using email marketing.

#### Use of 3rd Party Services

MailPoet uses the following services that are necessary for its full functionality:

 * [Translate WordPress.com](https://translate.wordpress.com/) – used to download
   translations for the plugin.

To improve user experience, MailPoet may use the following 3rd party libraries if
the _Load 3rd-party libraries_ setting is enabled:

 * [Google Fonts](https://fonts.google.com/) – used in Form Editor which you can
use to customize your forms, and in the Email Editor to style emails. This can
be individually [disabled by a filter](https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/332-how-to-disable-google-fonts).
   [TOS](https://policies.google.com/terms?hl=en) and [Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en)
 * [WordPress.com](https://public-api.wordpress.com/) – used for searching in Knowledge
Base with the help of AI.
 * [Mixpanel](https://mixpanel.com/) – used to send data about the usage of the
MailPoet plugin when you [agree with sharing usage data with us](https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/130-sharing-your-data-with-us).
   [TOS](https://mixpanel.com/legal/terms-of-use/) and [Privacy Policy](https://mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy/)
 * [Satismeter](https://www.satismeter.com/) – used to ask for feedback. [TOS](https://www.satismeter.com/terms/)
   and [Privacy Policy](https://www.satismeter.com/privacy-policy/)
 * [Crowdsignal](https://crowdsignal.com/) – used to load our deactivation poll
to improve our plugin. [TOS](https://crowdsignal.com/terms/) and [Privacy Policy](https://automattic.com/privacy/)

Loading all these libraries is disabled by default. The option can be enabled in
the _MailPoet’s Settings > Advanced > Load 3rd-party libraries_.

## FAQ

### Does MailPoet store the data of the user’s subscribers?

We do not store or keep any data from your subscribers. However, if you’re sending
with us, we do process all the emails to be sent. It means MailPoet only logs email
addresses to ensure that our service runs effectively. We do not track anything
else.

### What is the MailPoet Sending Service?

The MailPoet Sending Service is built exclusively to send WordPress and WooCommerce
emails. Our in-house technology provides unparalleled speed (over 50,000 emails
per hour) and performance, 99% uptime, and zero loss.

### Which sending methods can I use to send my newsletters?

You have the liberty to choose how you send your emails: your own host (default,
but [not recommended](https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/154-why-you-shouldnt-send-with-your-host)),
the MailPoet Sending Service, SendGrid, Amazon SES, or most SMTP providers including
MailGun, etc.

### Why should I use the MailPoet Sending Service?

Our global deliverability rate is 98.5%, often exceeding industry standards. We
monitor each and every one of the millions of emails that we send for our users.

Whether you send 10 or 100,000 emails a day, the MailPoet Sending Service routinely
handles small business newsletters through to huge mailing lists with tens of thousands
of subscribers.

We highly encourage not to send with your host, [here’s why](https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/154-why-you-shouldnt-send-with-your-host).

If you’re just starting with your newsletter, we offer a free plan to get you started.

### Can I filter specific categories out of my post notification?

Yes! In MailPoet you can set either categories or tags to include/exclude. This
allows you to only send posts from specific categories or tags, ensuring that non-
relevant posts stay out of your emails. You can also set up multiple post notification
emails to better target your subscribers’ interests.

### Is MailPoet GDPR compliant?

Yes, we are GDPR compliant. We do not have a Data Processing Agreement though. Our
privacy notice can act as an agreement and GDPR takes this into consideration. By
using our service, you acknowledge our Privacy Notice.

We suggest that you also add a link to our Privacy Notice in your own Privacy Notice
page. What’s important is to make sure that your subscribers are aware that MailPoet
delivers your email, if you send with MailPoet that is.

You can also read our [Guide to Conform to GDPR](https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/246-guide-to-conform-to-gdpr).

### WooCommerce: can my customers subscribe to my newsletter at checkout?

Yes, with MailPoet your customers can subscribe at checkout to your mailing list.
You will even be able to send them abandoned cart reminder if they forgot to complete
their purchase.

### Is it MailPoet or Mail poet?

It’s MailPoet, not mail poet. We’ll answer to either though!

### 󠀁[Wanna B a Bug Tester? Free? – MAJOR UPDATE](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wanna-b-a-bug-tester-free/)󠁿

 [Trinity7](https://profiles.wordpress.org/trinity7/) April 3, 2026 1 reply

That was then, this is now. I roasted MPoet a few years ago, but now I can only
give them 5 stars and a free recommendation. Setup is simple and kind of exciting
to do. The mail goes out in the background, so it is essentially an invisible process.
The tech works fine. I never have errors or failures or any problems at all. I love
it. And MPoet has been around a while now. They don’t bug me with questions or spam
or boss me around – its very quiet and highly conducive to good writing for me.
I do recommend Mail Poet. Yes, I do. I used Mailpoet2 (MP2) for a year or more,
and it worked fine. Then, when MP3 was introduced, MP2 went buggy, driving me to
look at MP3. MP3 never worked. Mail never senbds, not one single time. So, I went
back to MP2 and… mail never went out. I posted in the forums, asking for ANY help
or ideas from the developers. Not a peep. Not one reply. Nothing. A few days later,
still searching vainly in the 12 or so forums I subscribed to for help getting MP3
or MP2 to work, I stumbled across a short comment my Mailpoet that their sending
service, the “free for 2000 subscribers” sending service, was taken down “due to
abuse”. Sure, abuse. Not that MP3 is actually functional on my end. I changed my
theme, but it still failed. I disabled every single plugin except MP3, and still
broken. It sends test emails, but never sends the post notifications. My cronjobs
never send mail, and they are correctly set up. The ‘Send Button” was removed from
MP2, and is not present in MP3 (THANKS, MP! You ROCK) So, from my position as a
20+ year Internet developer/hardware designer/R+D engineer, I give MailPoet ZERO
stars and have deleted them from my site forever. There are actual real products
available which work flawlessly out-of-the-box, and you can even roll your own with
software that will run on your own machine. Goodbye, Mailpoet. Good riddance, and
shame on me for ever tolerating your non-responsive behavior and your “it worked
when we published it” attitude.

MailPoet helped me tremendously in resolving the issue where the send button was
unavailable. After I created an account for them, they investigated the matter,
identified the problem, and fixed it. Great work.

Mailpoet is the best balance of ESSENTIAL free features, a simple experience, and
really easy integration with Jetpack CRM and other tools. Everything a small business
or freelancer could need. As a little guy, I can’t afford to pay for SAAS (on top
of hosting and all my other costs) to send basic emails thru my own server (ie:
DIY folks don’t need to use Mailpoet’s servers). Setup with SMTP plugins was a breeze;
it just worked. (In my case I used FluentSMTP cause it was simple). I tested around
half a dozen of the newsletter plugins. Most are kneecapped in tedious ways by paywalls,
they limit how long your list can be, or other arbitrary limits that don’t really
have any relation to how much you use the product. Many use pre-gutenberg page builders
that are clunky or basic WYSIWYG & code editors. Mailpoet uses a page builder (which
is very easy) but is moving in the direction of deep integration with the Block
Editor in their alpha email editor. Anyone building block themes totally in FSE/
Gutenberg will rejoice. MAILPOET TEAM: You’re doing everything right. Congrats and
thank you from the little guy. Thank you for understanding the balance between not
limiting DIY open-source culture VS your paying customers who need your servers
and pay for what they use

I’m really enjoying MailPoet. I’ve used both Constant Contact and MailChimp, and
while I don’t strongly dislike either one, my workflow is so much easier with MailPoet,
since I can quickly and easily go between communication to my list and my website–
I especially love that media items are shared with my website. The integration within
WordPress feels pretty seamless to me. It was also pretty easy to set up and do
my DNS edits with SiteGround (where I have my hosting). I had a really fun time
setting up the custom web pages and automated subscription emails. This part was
particularly enjoyable since it is all hosted on my website – and I really appreciated
how easy it was to customize the automated process so that people who subscribe
will receive a process that feels “on brand” for me. It was easy to create forms
and add them to my website and I love that I only need one login and I don’t have
to share out passwords with other people who are using it, since they access it
with their Wordpress login. That’s a whole lot better than having a single login
that everybody in the organization has to share and then dealing with “did you get
the 6 digit code in your text?” And “Who is getting the verification code?” The
design process is pretty straight forward and easy to learn and feels a bit less
glitchy than some of the other providers I have used. Lastly, I had an account issue
and reached out for support and heard back from the AI within seconds and I got
a thorough and easily actionable response that was worded in every day English,
and easy to understand and completely solved my issue. I realize that not every
tool is good for every person, but as long as MailPoet keeps their pricing in a
range that is within reach for normal people, this will be my new favorite plugin.
On that particular note, I appreciate that they have a free version for up to 500
subscribers. That feels very realistic for me – that it gives me breathing room
while I build my business, and then when my business hits a level that is sustainable,
I will be happy to pay for an annual plan that doesn’t blow my budget (glaring pointedly
at MailChimp and Constant Contact).
