Made for restaurants, cafés, canteens, bakeries, butchers and bistros that publish a lunch menu every week, and for anyone who wants a clean, fast food menu without a page builder. #### Weekly lunch menu * **One screen per week.** Monday to Friday side by side, plus dishes served all week (soup, salad of the week). Notes per day, e.g. “Closed – public holiday”. * **Fast to fill in.** Suggestions while typing take over price and labelling of dishes you served before. Press Enter to jump from dish to price to the next dish. Drag dishes between days. * **Start from last week** with one click, or copy any weekly menu to the following week. * **Always up to date.** Your website shows the current week and switches to next week after the last serving day – as soon as it is published. Today’s dishes are highlighted. * **Today’s dishes** as a separate view for your home page. #### Restaurant menu * Dishes in categories and sub-categories, in your own order. * Several sizes per dish (0.3 l / 0.5 l), photos, descriptions, markers like vegetarian, vegan or spicy. * Prices exactly as you type them – “market price” stays text, “7,50” becomes a price. #### Allergens and additives * The **14 allergens** that must be declared in the EU, with the letter codes common in German-speaking countries (A–R). * The **additives** usually declared with numbers (colouring, preservative, caffeine, quinine …). Switch off what you never use, add your own and change every code or wording. * A **legend** below each menu explains the codes in use, or all codes. * Screen readers hear the full allergen names instead of letters. #### Five designs Pick a design on the **Design** screen and see it live with sample dishes, on desktop and phone: * **Minimal** – quiet lines in the fonts of your theme. Fits any website. * **Bistro** – a classic serif menu with dotted leaders. * **Chalkboard** – hand-lettered on a slate board, the classic for daily specials. * **Modern** – every day on its own card. Great for canteens and cafés. * **Fine Dining** – centred, airy, with prices as plain numbers. Choose your accent colour per design, design or theme fonts, price style and spacing. Any block or shortcode can use another design than the default. #### Printable menu board and QR code * A clean **A4 page** for the weekly menu or the menu – in your design, with legend, business name and a QR code to your website. Adjust the text size or switch to two columns before printing. * **Download the QR code** as SVG or PNG for table stands, windows and flyers. #### Made for search engines * **schema.org structured data** (Menu, MenuSection, MenuItem, Offer) with prices, currency, the date of each weekly dish and diets like vegetarian or vegan. * Real text instead of images or PDFs, weekdays as headings, `time` and `data` elements for dates and prices. * Styles load on pages with a menu, in the page head, so nothing jumps while the page loads. * Print views are hidden from search engines, so they don’t compete with your pages. #### Fast and private * **No external requests.** Fonts are included and load from your own website. No Google Fonts, no tracking, no CDN. QR codes are created in the browser. * Caches of WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, W3 Total Cache and WP Super Cache are cleared automatically when a menu changes. #### Ready for add-ons Lunchboard has more than 70 documented hooks, public functions, template overrides and JavaScript hooks for the admin screens. Install and activate the plugin. 2. Open **Lunchboard** in the admin menu. The overview walks you through the setup. 3. Create a weekly menu, or add dishes under **Menu**. 4. Add the block **Weekly lunch menu** or **Restaurant menu** to a page. With page builders, use a shortcode: 5. * `[lunchboard_week]` – the current week * `[lunchboard_week day="today"]` – today’s dishes * `[lunchboard_week week="next"]` – next week * `[lunchboard_menu]` – the whole menu * `[lunchboard_menu category="drinks"]` – some categories (slugs, comma-separated) * `[lunchboard_menu images="yes"]` – with photos * `design="chalkboard"` – any menu in another design * `legend="no"` – without the legend 6. Pick your look under **Lunchboard Design**. 7. Under **Lunchboard Settings QR code & print**, choose where your QR code leads and download it. ## FAQ ### Does this plugin make my menu legally compliant? No plugin can do that. Lunchboard helps you mark allergens and additives and explains the codes in a legend. You remain responsible for complete and correct information about your food. ### Can I use other codes than A–R and 1–12? Yes. Every code and wording can be changed under “Lunchboard Settings Allergens& additives”. Your dishes keep their markings. ### Does Lunchboard load Google Fonts? No. The fonts of the designs are part of the plugin and load from your own website. You can also use your theme’s fonts. ### Will the menu match my theme? The design “Minimal” uses your theme’s fonts and colours. The other designs bring their own look, but you choose the accent colour, and you can switch every design to your theme’s fonts. ### How do I print the weekly menu? Open the weekly menu and click “Open print view”, or use the print button on the overview. In the print dialog, switch off headers and footers for a clean page. ### I use a caching plugin. Will guests see old dishes? Lunchboard clears the cached pages that show a menu whenever you change a dish, a weekly menu or the settings, and again every night shortly after midnight. This works with WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, W3 Total Cache and WP Super Cache. With other caches or a CDN, set the cache lifetime of these pages to a few hours, or use the` lunchboard_pages_purged` action. ### Can I extend Lunchboard? Yes. Add designs, markers, fields, settings tabs, print views or your own markup with the hooks described in `docs/developers.md`. ### What happens to my data when I delete the plugin? The settings are removed.
