## Description

LinkVault Connect puts the products you already sell on your LinkVault page — the
one link you share on Instagram, TikTok or in an email signature.

You choose which products appear. Each one shows its photo, name, description and
price, and tapping it takes the customer to that product on your own store, where
they check out exactly as they do today.

**WooCommerce stays in charge.** LinkVault never takes payments, never touches your
orders, never holds stock and never has a checkout of its own. It shows the product
and sends the customer to you.

#### The plugin is free, and everything in it works

There is no licence key, no trial, no expiry date, and no counter that runs out.
Every capability this plugin contains is available the moment you activate it and
connect your account. Nothing is switched off waiting to be bought, and nothing
in the plugin will ever ask you to upgrade in order to use it.

#### What it does

 * Connect your WooCommerce store to your LinkVault account
 * Choose which products to publish
 * Prices, names, descriptions and photos stay in step with your store automatically,
   in the background
 * Unpublish, hide, trash or delete a product in WooCommerce and it stops showing
   on LinkVault
 * Changes to a product’s variations update its price range too
 * Re-sync everything by hand whenever you want
 * Disconnect and reconnect at any time
 * Works with the products you already have — nothing to re-enter

#### What it deliberately does not do

 * No checkout on LinkVault
 * No shipping, delivery or fulfilment
 * No stock, variations or galleries
 * No order or customer data leaves your store

#### You will need a LinkVault account

The plugin publishes products to a LinkVault account, so you need one, and you will
be asked to sign in and approve the connection. That is authentication — the plugin
has to know which account to publish to. It is not a licence check, and this plugin
does not test your account for anything before letting you use every part of it.

LinkVault is a separate hosted service with its own plans and its own limits on
what it will host for you. Those are described at https://linkvault.bio/pricing
and are not enforced by this plugin.

#### External service

This plugin sends data to **LinkVault** (https://linkvault.bio), a service operated
by GoCartly Limited. That is what makes it work: the products you choose are shown
on your LinkVault page, so they have to reach LinkVault’s servers.

It talks to `accounts.linkvault.bio` over HTTPS, and sends:

 * **When you connect your account** — your site’s address, its WordPress and WooCommerce
versions, this plugin’s version, and a random identifier generated once for this
installation. No personal data and no visitor data.
 * **When you publish or update a product** — only the products you explicitly choose,
and only these fields: name, short description, featured image URL, the price
as your store formats it, the link back to the product, your store’s currency
code, and whether the product is published or hidden.
 * **When it re-syncs** — the same product fields for the products you already chose,
once a day and whenever you press Sync now.

Syncing happens in the background through WooCommerce’s own task queue (Action Scheduler),
never inside the request that changed the product. A shopper’s checkout that updates
stock does not wait for LinkVault.

That list is complete. This plugin contains no code that reads an order, a customer,
or a stock level.

Nothing is sent when a shopper loads your store or checks out. The plugin never
contacts LinkVault during a front-end request, so your shop’s speed does not depend
on it.

## Installation

 1. Install and activate the plugin. WooCommerce must be installed and active.
 2. Go to **WooCommerce LinkVault**.
 3. Choose **Connect your LinkVault account** and approve the connection.
 4. Choose which products to show.
 5. In LinkVault, add a **WooCommerce product** block to your bio page, or send the
    products to your LinkVault shop.

## FAQ

### Do I need a WooCommerce store?

Yes. This plugin is for merchants who already run WooCommerce. It reads the products
you already have — there is nothing to re-enter and no second catalogue to keep
in step.

### Is there a paid version of this plugin?

No. This plugin is free and complete. Nothing in it is disabled, time-limited or
reserved for paying customers.

A separate commercial plugin, LinkVault Connect Pro, may be offered in future from
linkvault.bio with genuinely additional functionality. None of its code is in this
plugin, this plugin does not check for it, and this plugin does not need it.

### Does this replace WooCommerce?

No. WooCommerce stays in charge of everything that matters: your products, your
stock, your orders, your checkout and your payment gateway. LinkVault shows the
product and sends the customer to you.

### Do I need to rebuild my website?

No. The plugin adds nothing to your storefront — it registers no front-end hooks
at all, so your theme, your product pages and your checkout are exactly as they
were. Everything it does happens in wp-admin and on LinkVault.

### Does the plugin affect my existing checkout?

It cannot. LinkVault never takes a payment, never holds stock and has no checkout
of its own. A customer who taps a product on your LinkVault page lands on that product
on your store and buys the way they always have.

### Will it slow my store down?

No. The plugin never contacts LinkVault on a front-end page request. Nothing is
sent when a shopper loads your shop, so your page speed does not depend on our servers
being fast or even being up.

### Can I disconnect?

Yes, from the same screen, at any time. Disconnecting removes the stored credentials
and stops syncing. Your WooCommerce products, orders and customers are untouched,
and reconnecting later picks up where you left off.

### Can I uninstall the plugin?

Any time, and your store is untouched. Uninstalling removes the settings this plugin
created and nothing else — never a product, an order, a customer, or another plugin’s
data.

### What data leaves my store?

Only the products you explicitly choose, and only the fields listed under “External
service” above. No orders, no customers, no stock levels.

## Changelog

#### 1.0.8

 * **Syncing now always happens in the background.** A product change is queued
in WooCommerce’s Action Scheduler and sent from there. Previously a stock change
during checkout could make the shopper’s request wait for LinkVault.
 * Sync now works through your products in small background batches, so large catalogues
no longer time out. The result, including any products that did not go through,
   shows under Last sync.
 * Changing a variation now updates its product on LinkVault straight away, instead
of at the next daily sync.
 * Deleting a product permanently (not just trashing it) now removes it from LinkVault.
 * Products hidden from the shop catalogue or protected by a password are no longer
   shown on LinkVault.
 * Remove now keeps the product on your list if LinkVault could not be reached,
   so you can try again.
 * Temporary connection problems are retried automatically a couple of times.
 * The product list has pages, so every product can be reached, not just the 50
   newest.
 * New extension points for developers: `gclv_pre_push`, `gclv_product_hidden`, `
   gclv_published_changed`, `gclv_reconcile_before`, `gclv_reconcile_after`, `gclv_catalogue_row_actions`,
   and the functions `gclv_api_request()`, `gclv_connection()` and `gclv_published_ids()`.

#### 1.0.7

 * **The licensing system is gone.** Licence keys, activation and deactivation,
the twice-daily licence check-in, the signed licence cache and the plugin’s product
cap have all been removed — not hidden, not disabled, removed. Nothing remains
in this plugin that can withhold a feature pending payment.
 * Automatic syncing, manual syncing and publishing are available to every store,
and the plugin no longer limits how many products you publish.
 * The self-updater has been removed. Updates come from WordPress.org like any other
   plugin.
 * Everything this plugin owns is now prefixed `gclv_` / `GCLV_`, and its classes
live in the `GoCartly\LinkVaultConnect` namespace, so nothing it defines can
   collide with another plugin.
 * Your existing settings are carried over automatically on upgrade — connection,
installation identifier and published products all move to the new names. Nothing
   needs reconnecting.
 * Uninstalling no longer makes an outbound request, because there is no longer
   a licence slot to release.
 * Documented extension hooks (`gclv_product_synced`, `gclv_connection_created`
and others) so a separate plugin can build on this one without modifying it.

#### 1.0.6

 * Documentation and packaging fixes; no functional change.

#### 1.0.5

 * Documented that products can go on a LinkVault bio page, in a LinkVault shop,
   or both.

#### 1.0.4

 * The plugin’s “Visit plugin site” link now goes to a product page rather than
   the LinkVault home page.

#### 1.0.3

 * Corrected what the readme said this plugin needs.

#### 1.0.2

 * Automatic syncing became part of the free plugin rather than a licensed feature.
