It runs entirely on your own server. There is no cloud account to create and no monthly cap on how many links it checks, and it never nags you to upgrade. You can watch the scan happen in real time: a progress bar, a live count of links checked, and an estimate of how long is left. #### Why people switch to it * **On your server.** Nothing is sent to a third-party service to do the checking. Upload the plugin to `/wp-content/plugins/linkraven`, or install it from the Plugins screen. 2. Activate it. 3. Go to **Tools Linkraven** and click **Scan now**. ## FAQ ### Does this send my data anywhere? No. The plugin does its checking on your own server. To find out whether a link works, it sends a normal web request to that link’s address, exactly as a visitor’s browser would. That is the only outbound traffic, and it is the same thing any link checker has to do. Your content is never uploaded to us or to any service. ### Will it slow down my site? No. Scanning happens in the background in small batches, with a pause built in when the server is busy. It never runs on your visitors’ page loads. ### My scan looks stuck. Is it? Almost never. Scans run as background jobs that move forward as your site receives traffic, so on a quiet site a scan can wait between visits and pick back up on the next page view. Reopen the page after some activity and you’ll see the count climb. Bigger sites take longer simply because there are more links to check. ### Is there a paid version or a link limit? No. The plugin is free and there is no cap on how many links it checks. ### How do I fix a broken link? Open **Tools Linkraven**, find the link in the results, and either edit the URL or unlink it right there. ### Can it fix links inside page builders? It will find links inside Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, and ACF content.
