Whoever does not book yet still reaches you, on your phone. It is built for businesses that live on appointments and calls: salons, clinics, studios, contractors, cleaners, auto shops, tutors, and anyone whose next customer is a question away. #### It answers like your business You tell it about your business in plain words: what you do, your prices, your hours, what to say and what never to say. If you would rather not write it from scratch, the dashboard asks you four questions instead. Every answer comes from that, so visitors get your business, in your words. #### It closes the deal When a visitor asks “Do you have time tomorrow afternoon?”, Smart Chat checks your real availability, offers the open times, and books the one they pick. The visitor gets the confirmation, and you get a customer, not a lead to chase. Nobody waits for a call back. #### Nobody slips away The moment a visitor leaves a phone number or asks for a person, the lead reaches your phone with what they actually said. Reply from your phone and the conversation carries on, even after the visitor has left your site. Your personal number is never shown to them. #### It speaks their language Smart Chat answers in the language your visitor writes in, and switches when they do. #### Light on your site The widget loads after your page, so it never holds up what your visitors came to see. It works on any theme and on phones. #### One field to set up This plugin connects your site to your Smart Chat account. There is one setting: your key. What the chat says, your hours, your calendar and where your leads go are all managed in your Instinctor dashboard, from your computer or your phone. #### Plans Smart Chat has a free plan, so you can install it and see it answer your own visitors today. When you need more, the unlimited plan is one click in your dashboard: https:// instinctor.com/smart-chat/ ### External services This plugin loads the Smart Chat widget from Instinctor, which is the service that provides the chat. The widget cannot be served from your own site: it talks to Instinctor to answer questions, check your availability and deliver messages to you. What is loaded: `https://instinctor.com/embed/chat/v1.js`, on every page of your site, once the key is set. What is sent: the key identifying your account, and the address of the page the visitor is on. When a visitor uses the chat, what they type is sent to Instinctor so it can be answered and passed to you, along with any contact details they choose to give, such as a phone number. Nothing is sent before a visitor’s browser loads the page, and nothing is sent at all while no key is set. The settings screen can also create an account for you, and that is the only other time this plugin contacts Instinctor. If you type your email address there and ask for a key, the plugin sends that email address and your site address to `https:// instinctor.com/api/instinctor/v1/solo/chat-start` so the account can be made and the key returned. It happens only when an administrator asks for it, never on its own and never from a visitor’s browser. If you already have a key and paste it instead, this call is never made. Paste the key from your Smart Chat email. It starts with `ic_site_`. Pasting the whole script line works too. No account yet? Type your email on the same screen and the key is created for you. 4. Open your site. The chat is in the bottom right. ## FAQ ### Do I need an account? Yes. The plugin connects your site to your Smart Chat account, which is where the answers, your calendar and your leads live. Signing up is free at https://instinctor. com/smart-chat/ or right from the plugin’s settings screen. ### Where do I write what the chat should say? In your Instinctor dashboard, under Assistant. It asks you four questions if you would rather not write it from scratch. ### Can it book appointments into my calendar? Yes. It offers only times that are actually open, books the one the visitor picks, and sends the confirmation. ### Which languages does it speak? It answers in the language the visitor writes in. ### Where is my key? In the email you were sent when you signed up. You can also find it in your dashboard. ### Will it slow my site down? No. The widget loads asynchronously after your page, so it does not hold up anything a visitor is waiting to see. ### Does it work without this plugin? Yes. The plugin exists so you do not have to paste a script tag into your theme.
